When I awoke I noticed that some of my things had been moved about. Each item was placed in a navigational direction: north, east, west, and south. I also was aware that my hands were placed in the direction, northeast. I collected my things and began walking, I must have walked for quite awhile because when I left, the sun was just overhead and when I thought to check again, the sun was already even with the horizon. I noticed something covered with shroud, it was a sign in English but it did not make sen .....

Through out the story, I felt that Sammy was feeling trapped in life by his job. When Sammy made reference to him making a song up for when he was done ringing someone's groceries through the till, "'Hello (bing) there, you (gung) hap-py pee-pul (splat)!' - the splat being the drawer flying out.". Sammy knew he had been working there for a long time and was getting sick of working there. I believe Sammy felt as if he was placed in the job and was never going to move. Sammy was given the job from his pa .....

Walter tells his wife that, "I'm trying to talk to you 'bout myself and all you can say is eat them eggs and go to work", which is the first sign of Walter's recurring feelings that if someone in the family would just listen to him and put forth their trust his dreams would come to fruition. Following this argument Walter goes off to his job as a chauffeur which is the job he so longs to be done away with because he would rather "be Mr. Arnold[his employer] than be his chauffeur. .... Caesar, as history as shown, is a brilliant leader. Caesar believed that by leading you must not just make a plan, you must carry it out with his own manpower. He was always on his horse leading his pack through the bloodshed, not like many other leaders. When Decius was talking to Milo towards the beginning of the story he says that Caesar is known for being "reckless." He recounts the story of the pirates that captured him. Also in that conversation, Decius puts down Caesar because he says that Caesar has no money and that even as Pontifex Maximus, he still doesn't have any money. So he thinks less of Caesar when Milo tells him abo .....

.... With all this talk of quests and glory Biblo decides to join the party after all. Gandalf reveals a key and a map of their journey, which ends at the Lonely Mountain. It is there that the treasure of Thorins' ancestors is guarded by Smaug. The quest begins and the party meets at the Green Dragon Inn. From there they venture into the Lone-lands. As heavy rains begin to fall, Biblo notices that Gandalf is missing. When it starts to pour they stop to investigate a light. Their Biblo finds three trolls grumbling about food. Biblo decides to live up to title of burglar and attempts to pick one of the trolls' pockets. However they quickly capt .....

.... I couldn't put the book down. In the Middle of the Night is about an accident in a theater where a balcony collapses on a number of small children, and kills them, and a few are injured. The owner of the theatre kill himself and everyone is out to blame John the usher who was investigating the noises from the balcony at the time. Today the usher has grown up and has a son. A victim, who died in the accident but came back to life that day, is out for revenge on the usher's son. The novel is hard to follow at first because there are jumps from one character view to another, to piece together a whole view of the story. The structure of the s .....

A specific instance in the novel is when the reader finds out that Mrs. Waters is actually Jenny Jones who is Tom’s mother. He sleeps with Mrs. Waters not knowing this. Fielding does not unveil this secret until the end of the novel. The major problem in the book is simple. There is a deceitful man named Blifil. He and Tom are going after the same woman, Sophia Western. Blifil is a kaniving person and besmirches the reputation of Tom. He makes up lies that hur .....
