Literaranalysis- All Quiet On
Words: 492 - Pages: 2.... war.
Once he arrives at the front he begins to understand the “terrible thing called war.” He realizes that war isn’t all glory, there is death and destruction. Paul learns to deal with the deaths of all his friends and how to keep his mind clear without turning into an animal. One of the big issues in the book was Kemmerich’s leather boots. At his death everybody was squabbling over who would get them. Remarque, in my opinion, shows you the pettiness between good friends because of war. Remarque kind of slips in these themes, some others are how terrible war really is, friendship is a must to stay alive on the battle .....

Billy Bud: Contrast Between Good And Evil
Words: 639 - Pages: 3.... what is good. Therefore,
Claggort was Billy's antagonist throughout Billy Budd. Also symbolic to
the novel is the actual demise of both Claggort and Billy Budd. Claggort's
death is very short and appropriate "to his navel grade." In contrast,
Billy's death occurs during the dawn where " Billy ascended; and ascending
took the full rose of the dawn." Claggort's death completely contrasts
with the pure death of Billy Budd. Billy's death is portrayed as good,
conquering, and symbolic, which directly foils that of Claggort's. Not
only using symbolism, Melville also uses characterization to contrast good
and evil.
Characterizatio .....

The Great Gatsby: Life In The 1920s
Words: 577 - Pages: 3.... though it is very complex and has a lot of internal conflicts. The plot is very entertaining because it involves a character striving for a goal that he is never able to accomplish.
The Characters in the novel played a big role in developing the story. The characters give the impression that they are respectable and wealthy. They all are very charming and elicit. They are in fact horrible people who had hardly any morals. These characters portrayed people who were corrupt and dishonest. They are likeable because they lived a life that most people can only dream of. They may be considered horrible people but they had fun doing it. T .....

Glamis thou art, and Cawdor, and shalt be
What thou art promise'd: yet do I fear thy nature,
It is too full o' the milk of human kindness
To catch the nearest way. Thou wouldst be great,
Art not without ambition…(I.V.15-19)
This shows how little Lady Macbeth cares about her husband's wishes. This is very ironic since normally it is the man who does not ask for approval. Even when Macbeth disagrees to her plan, Lady Macbeth .....
