Animal Farm
Words: 1601 - Pages: 6.... Animal Farm is a criticism of Karl Marx, as well
as a novel perpetuating his convictions of democratic
Socialism. (Zwerdling, 20). Lenin became leader and
teacher of the working class in Russia, and their
determination to struggle against capitalism. Like Old Major,
Lenin and Marx wrote essays and gave speeches to the
working class poor. The working class in Russia, as
compared with the barnyard animals in Animal Farm, were a
laboring class of people that received low wages for their
work. Like the animals in the farm yard, the people is Russia
thought there would be no oppression in a new society
because the working class .....

Cooper's "Deerslayer": View Of The Native Americans
Words: 2278 - Pages: 9.... made clear. The plot is a platform for the development of
moral themes. The first contact the reader has with people in the book is
in the passage in which the two hunters find each other. "The calls were
in different tones, evidently proceeding from two men who had lost their
way, and were searching in different directions for their path" (Cooper, p.
5). Bewley states that this meeting is symbolic of losing one's way
morally, and then attempting to find it again through different paths.
Says Bewley, "when the two men emerge from the forest into the little
clearing we are face to face with... two opposing moral visions of l .....

A Clockwork Orange
Words: 1207 - Pages: 5.... find out what happened at the end =). "" is a cult classic. It was Stanley Kubrick's 2nd Critically acclaimed film (the first being "Spartacus"). I was first interested in the book by Anthony Burgess (which in my opinion, is equally as good as the movie).
"" contains only a few of the element that can make a good film. One of them is the makeup. Alex and his gang (droogs) all where a makeup when they go out and do there thing. It gives them all a look of insanity and makes them look disturbed. I think that this was well done because it gives you a feeling of fear. Being afraid of a character in a movie is an excellent way to get to .....

The Scarlet Letter: Sin Affects
Words: 879 - Pages: 4.... Hester has violated no law of her own nature. Her relationship with Dimmesdale, consequently, has been the almost inescapable result of her own nature, not a violation of it. Her sin has only affected the way that people look at Hester. Hester feels that the only sin that she committed is that she had not told the community who the father of Pearl is. It was her choice not to tell whom the father was and she regretted every moment of it. She was suffering because she was not strong enough to come out and tell the town that Dimmesdale was the father. It is stated in the novel that she “was patient, -a martyr, indeed, -but she forbore .....

The Adventures Of Huckleberry Finn: Themes Related To Society Today
Words: 622 - Pages: 3.... wife. He is
dressed in an old dress and is pretending to be a young girl searching for
her relatives. The woman suspects his sex and tries various devices to
ascertain if her suspicions are true. Among these is threading a needle
and throwing a bar of lead at the rats which swarm around the house.
Finally she makes Huck own up that he is a boy. In any case, this is a
great example of a young boy lying until his nose is a foot long. Lying is
prevalent among today's children as well.
Racism has an obvious connection to today's society. In the novel
Huck says many "racist" comments. In this scene Aunt Sally hears of a

One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest: Comparison Of Movie And Book
Words: 316 - Pages: 2.... losing his patience trying to teach
the patients to play cards. However, this movie had very dramatic moments
as well. The scene with Billy Bibbit breaking down emotionally in front of
the Nurse and then eventually committing suicide were among the most
dramatic. Nevertheless, the most dramatic moment was when the new McMurphy
was revealed to the viewers. Up to that point we were used to McMurphy
being a lively and cocky character. What we were exposed to was a character
with totally contrary characteristics. He looked like a dead corpse with
just enough energy to breathe. This was a truly moving scene that lead to
Chief suffocating the li .....
