It produces sympathy for the other characters because they are oblivious to Iago’s actions and the part they play in the scheme of things. Thus having many stories and memories to tell in part one. She even has three separate chapters for three different sets of family. Sara Rosen's decision of explaining her family and the traditions set forth, was an exceptional way to start the novel. It gave the reader a more detailed image of what to expect.
