He ends up setting up a trap for Grendel by boasting to the great king of how he was going to defeat the great Grendel with his bare hands. This miss leads Grendel into thinking that he will be easy to kill. Untold to Grendel has taken half of his men with their weapons and hidden them. They attacked him in vain, his skin was too tough to be pierced by a sword. ended up ripping Grendel's shoulder and arm out of its socket, because he could not kill him with his sword. Grendel escaped .....

.... home and resume his normal life. The patience that he acquired aides him in seeking the right moment to avenge his wife’s thoughtless suitors and to regain control of his house. Before he descended into Hades, Odysseus was quick to draw his sword and start a fight. At almost all of his stops, Odysseus and his crew, some how or another, got into battles with the inhabitants of the islands. While he is in Hades, Elpenor, his dead crew member, tells Odysseus to bury him or he may “draw up God’s vengeance upon (him)!�(125). When Odysseus leaves Hades he goes back to bury his friend. After the first stanza the reader is in full knowledge of the death of the poet. The second stanza reads, “The eyes beside had wrung them dry, and breaths were gathering sure for that last onset, when the king be witnessed in his power.� This stanza deals with how God is brought upon by the speaker’s death. Onlookers surround the dead body and seem to be looking for clues to what may eventually await them when it is their turn to pass onto another possible world. In stanza .....

Biff is a source of endless frustration for Willy, who always dreams of Biff being incredibly successful in the business world. When Willy has memories of Biff as a boy, he is completely obsessed with whether or not Biff is well-liked; however, he is completely oblivious to things like Biff’s having stolen a football from school, and the fact that Biff is failing his math class. .... to agree with Fitzgerald's feelings towards post war upper class Americans after concluding the novel. The main characters in The Great Gatsby all have very different personalities. Despite this however, all of the characters are affected by money, and Fitzgerald uses this fact to influence the response of the reader. Some characters, like Gatsby and Tom Buchanan, have money, and are very expressive with it. Examples of this are Gatsby's expensive Rolls Royce and Tom's polo horses that he flew in from Chicago. Initial confrontations are "uncomfortable", each person knowing that he/she is deceased, but they are not impolite. However, as the true reasons why each person has been sentenced to Hell are revealed, the true nature of the place takes shape. Nick’s first actual encounter with Tom is a paragraph saturated with words of strength and authority: sturdy, supercilious, enormous, and aggressive, to name a few. Tom’s physical body is described as “cruel” and this describes more than just his body, but his demeanor as well. His voice, “…a gruff husky tenor…” (11), added to his rough image. .... influences. Richard loosely summarizes the actions of the play, specifically Bullingbroke's usurpation of the throne and his own decline. Much of what he says foreshadows his imminent death. However, it is only in the face of death that Shakespeare reveals the nature of the former king. The most important role that this passage plays is to demonstrate the transformation that Richard has undergone since relinquishing the crown. He is no longer a callous, self-absorbed elitist, but is self-reflective and poetic. An early example of this clever use of language is the hammer metaphor, which symbolizes his newfound ability to craft .....
