Puritans And Witches - Natural
Words: 1145 - Pages: 5.... Puritan. The family was a homage to God. A man's gift to God was a happy, prayerful family centered within the church.
A Puritan considered it a kindness to his neighbor to keep an eye on the neighbor's behavior and to guide him when guidance was deemed necessary. Corruption in the community could easily spread into the church, and the good Puritan was ever-vigilant against scandal in either place. A personal scandal was a community matter, and a church concern as well. Sin was a heavy burden to the Puritans. No method existed in their faith for ridding oneself of sin. And because they believed that God could pluck them away from life and .....

Courtly And Uncourtly Views Of
Words: 1786 - Pages: 7.... the lyrics of the troubadours. Although there are many similarities, such as the woman’s high status, there are also many dissimilarities. One of the most obvious of these is these poets acceptance of the real world. It is difficult to find references to other women in the troubadours’ poetry let alone other relationships as one would find in the Middle English courtly lyric. An example of such a reference can be found in the refrain: “An handy hap ich habbe ihent! / Ichot from hevene it is me sent; / From alle wimmen my love is lent, / And light on Alisoun”(Luria, 27). This poet tells his lady that his heart is set on her and .....

When soloists performed, a spotlight was focused on them to draw all the attention to the dance.
The choreography in Ailey’s dance was very interesting. The dancers used the floor much more than Swan Lake. Swan Lake’s dance movements seemed to be very apart from the floor. The females were always on their toes up off of the floor. The ma .....
