The Seat Belt Law
Words: 2526 - Pages: 10.... I had to wear my seat belt and sit in the back seat. I did not always do what my parents asked, but I did tend to wear my seatbelt all the time. It became habit to jump in the car and buckle up. Without a seatbelt, I feel as though I am missing something and I feel completely naked without it.
In the past fifteen years, I have, unfortunately, been a passenger in approximately ten car accidents. A few of these were significant enough to cause minor injuries. But in two specific cases, the police officer reminded the driver and myself of the luck we encountered by wearing seatbelts. I have been very lucky.
On the other hand, I hav .....

Speeding Tickets As A Form Of Discipline
Words: 481 - Pages: 2.... Once you have plead your case, you generally end up paying the excessively large fine. This only leads to another line, and another wait. This has to be the most unpleasant part of a speeding ticket.
In addition, paying for traffic school is also a disagreeable experience. If you waited to see the judge, you may be on your way after paying the fine. If the judge is kind, and offers a traffic school option, the unpleasantness continues. Usually the traffic school is no where near to the courthouse, which causes you to search to find the it. The great experience of paying is close at hand after locating the sorrow-laden school. You must end .....

Is Drug Testing The Answer?
Words: 1160 - Pages: 5.... and paying bills. Life is full of adversities that
humans must learn to cope with. Coping comes in many forms. It can be a walk
in the park, some quiet time with a loved one, or even reading a good book.
Conversely, coping can come in the form of substance abuse. Substance abuse can
take humans to that alternate reality they seek. Different drugs have different
effects on the mind and body. The reason for the effect is the same no matter
what drug is used. This reason is to escape reality.
Addiction follows this escape from reality. Once addiction comes into
play, it is no longer a matter of escaping. People addicted to dru .....

Capital Punishment: Against
Words: 969 - Pages: 4.... go along with this situation. Life
is suppose to be the one thing that was given to human beings by God or a
supreme being other then ourselves. If a human being were to take another
human being's life then the aggressor would have to go on trial that would
let him be judged by a group of his peers. Upon the verdict of guilt in
taking the other human being's life the group of peers will now have to
decide that person's fate or future. These people deciding the aggressor's
future do not have the right to take the aggressor's life for it is
unrealistic to justify one murder with another murder just for the sake of
an eye for an eye.

Capital Punishment
Words: 527 - Pages: 2.... is always going to be questioned by the
states. The United States doesn't like the death penalty because they say
its not a valid purpose of punishment. The states say a punishment that
conflicts harm can hardly be good for us. The states don't want to kill a
man who is already imprisoned. They say he's already being punished.
However the states don't keep all murders in jail forever. Some
of these criminals will get out and will probably start all over again. Its
not that they have to kill, but they have a problem. Problem or no problem
the states just can't let a killer get away with it. These criminals are

The Death Penalty Is Needed
Words: 988 - Pages: 4.... the murderer. Those are not the only things to take into account, but I will stop here.
It was August 3, the year was 1986. A man named Esquel Banda had just raped, stabbed and strangled a 74 year old widow by the name of Merle Laird in her own house. Banda then sucked the blood from the woman's mouth.
Does that describe a kind, gentle man, who is not a threat to society? A man who values life or a man that deserves life when he seems so eager to destroy it? I certainly wouldn't think so.
Some people believe that the death penalty is wrong, what do you think? Is it OK for a man to commit heinous murders but not OK for our valued legal sys .....
