Gun Control
Words: 585 - Pages: 3.... to them? Not too many. Most guns obtained by criminals are not obtained through the lawful purchase and sell transaction. The government is aware of this. All the laws are not about preventing crime. Law abiding citizens who are armed will prevent crime. You can hire all the police you want. They do not stop crime while it is happening. Armed citizens can stop the crime before it ever even happens. How many times have you read about someone walking into a public place and opening fire? Sometimes the person even stops and reloads. Paula Jones' Lawsuit Against Bill Clinton
Words: 376 - Pages: 2.... to decide whether to reverse the decision
of the two lower courts and delay the sexual harrassment lawsuit until President
Clinton leaves office. It could be months before the verdict from the Supreme
Court will be announced. I believe that the case should be held at a later date
when President Clinton is no longer in office. It takes away from his job which
is to run the United States of America. Fifteen years ago, the Supreme Court
blocked a damage suit against Richard Nixon with a five to four vote finding
that the president is immune from being suied for his official acts. If the
president gets in trouble, the whole nation is als .....

Capital Punishment: Right Or Wrong?
Words: 4209 - Pages: 16.... for capital punishment is that of deterrence.
The prevailing thought is that imposition of the death penalty will act to discourage other criminals from committing violent acts. Numerous studies have been created attempting to prove this belief. In addition, with the growing sympathy of modern society, the number of inmates actually put to death is substantially lower than 50 years ago. This fact that it was more safe back then than it is now probably has to due with the fact that in earlier times, where capital punishment was common, the value of life was less, and societies were more barbaric, capital punishment was probably quite .....

Second, many illicit-drug users commit crimes such as robbery and burglary, as

purchase the relatively high-priced illicit drugs. "Unlike the millions of
alcoholics who can support their habits for relatively modest amounts, many
cocaine and heroin addicts spend hundreds and even thousands of dollars a week"

Collegiate athletics have gained an exceptional amount of attention because of many incidents involving college athletes accepting gifts from agents and coaches. These incidents happen because agents will do anything for money. They know that if their prospect makes it big, they will get a cut of the earnings. Marcus Camby is one of the many athletes to accept gifts from agents even though it is a complete violation of NCAA rules. DO NOT INVITE THE INVESTIGATOR INTO YOUR HOME!
Such an invitation not only gives him the opportunity to look
around for clues to your lifestyle, friends, reading material, etc., but
also tends to prolong the conversation. The longer the conversation, the
more chance there is for a skill investigator to find out what he wants to
know.
Many times a police officer will ask you to accompany him to the
police station to answer a few questions. In that case, simply thank him
for the invitation and indicate that you are not disposed to accept it at
