Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

In 1762 the Mozart children played at court in Vienna; the Empress Maria Theresa and her husband, Emperor Francis I, received the Mozarts cordially. During a large European concert tour (1763- 66) the Mozart children displayed their talents to audiences in Germany, in Paris, at court in Versailles, and in London (where Wolfgang wrote his first symphonies and was befriended by Johann Christian Bach, whose musical influence on Wolfgang was profound). In Paris, Wolfgang published his first works, four sonatas for clavier with accompanying violin (1764). In 1768 he composed his first opera, La Finta Semplice, for V .....

John Rzeznik's Iris
Words: 772 - Pages: 3.... of these words. The song contains other literary devices, for example: “When everything feels like the movies,” exemplifies a simile. This shows how the writer can not connect with his lover, because he can not sense reality within her. The writer uses another literary technique, the repetitive use of the word “And.” Rzeznik uses “And” at the beginning of every verse. This shows a way of continuing his thoughts to stress a point and keeps the reader interested. This song contains a sad and depressing tone. The writer attempts to reach out and understand his lover. While he also wants her to see and comprehend him, but .....

Sidney Bechet, pianist Jelly Roll Morton, and cornetist King Oliver. The first

Band, made up of white musicians who copied black styles.
The New Orleans musicians discovered that audiences were eager for their music
in the cities of the North and the Midwest. In the 1920s Chicago became the
second major jazz center. White Chicago youths, such as tenor saxophonist Bud
Freeman and clarinetist Benny Goodman, were excited by the New Orleans masters
including the thrilling Louis Armstrong .....

Importance Of Music In Society
Words: 534 - Pages: 2.... a full-sized training room and fitness center.
Bodie, the enthused disc jockey, tested frequencies characterized by ear-splitting electronic music. Revolving red, white and blue lights flashed among the black atmosphere allowing low visibility. Yet, allowing the educators enough perceptibility to hover and catch obscene dancing. Amazingly, cute girls wearing designer jeans or painted-on hoochie-wear Capris escaped a chaperon and slow -danced in the arms of her significant other or less attractive boys in torn blue jeans.
There were many types of music played for the dancers and listeners. It changed for everyone who heard it. It .....

The Way It Really Was!
Words: 840 - Pages: 4.... Rock and Roll was usually used for describing physical sex.
Allen Freed was credited with inventing Rock and Roll but that wouldn't be to
good for him later in life.
The father of Rock and Roll
Alan freed was the first white disc jockey to play Rock and Roll. Alan
show in Cleveland was very popular with teenagers. In 1954, Alan's show moved
to WINS. His nick name “moondog” had to be dropped. He adopted the new title “

A Brief History Of Ledd Zeppelin And Its Musical Impact
Words: 1203 - Pages: 5.... might think. Nearly all music from the '60s and '70s was bred
from its earlier ancestors. Music has been constantly evolving, and during the
two decades in question, it underwent a radical change like never before.
The New Yardbirds
In early 1968 the music group The Yardbirds was in shambles. Their last,
and half-put --together album "Little Games" was a total flop and the band had
to struggle to have the release of the album in the UK stopped. On March 30,
the group allowed a taping of their concert in Madison Square Garden to be
considered for a live album to be released later. They easily convinced their
record contractor, Epic .....

Jimi Hendrix's "Purple Haze" And The 1960s And 70s
Words: 467 - Pages: 2.... His wild guitar skills
were almost a reflection of his personality.
I am not sure how accurate he was at describing the times, but,
from the information acquired in my interview, the 60's seemed to be more
carefree than dangerous. In my opinion, Kansas probably wasn't exactly the
hippie capital of the world. If I had interviewed someone who had lived in
a major city during the 60's I'm sure the danger would have been more
noticeable. A majority of the drug usage took place in the cities.
Jimi Hendrix is a perfect example of a hard-core hippie. He was a
drug addict as well as a spontaneous musical historian. He did have a long
las .....

Alanis Morissette's "Ironic": Isn't It Ironic?
Words: 700 - Pages: 3.... The real beauty of Alanis' song is her use of a bagfull of ironies
that the average person can relate too. Maybe not all, but at least a few
will make you remember an experience or two from your past. A good example
of a common irony found in this song would be the line Aten thousand
spoons when all you need is a knife@. It always seems that things we need
are never readily available. But I think we can take this beyond just
material things in life to the important ideals, such as our dreams and
goals. Usually we have to go through so much more that we do not need until
we finally reach what we want. A common example would be going .....
