Charles Dickens 4
Words: 1377 - Pages: 6.... his moral beliefs in every book that he has written. Dickens was a very big advocate in the “plea of Poor versus Rich”(Internet Site #1). Dickens gave plenty of aid to this plea by the works that he wrote, which provided progress to the battle for the poor. All of Dickens’ novels show the battle between upper and lower classes. He portrays the lower class in a respectable way, but he portrays the proletarian people in such a dishonorable way that the reader in some books despises them. One example of this is in Tale of Two Cities. This book shows how most people were poor during the French Revolution. The ari .....

John Quincy Adams
Words: 885 - Pages: 4.... I was the leading negotiator for
the Treaty of Ghent with the British, which ended the War of 1812. These
negotiations gained respect for the United States and me as a diplomat. I
am a likable person wherever I go. When I was a kid, our family was very
closely knit, as we all helped manage the farm, except for my dad, who was
usually away in foreign countries. This didn't affect me very much since I
joined up with him when I was 11 on his operations after my persistent
asking. As President, I worked scrupulously to work out problems and
provide leadership for the country. This was acknowledged by my fellow
officials in office and by .....

Simone De Beauvoir

All people are forced to see themselves as society has shaped them, both male and female. Although progress for gender impartiality has been made, it can still be said that societal maxims enforce the incorrect notion that women are inferior to men. In matters of economics, women are offered far fewer employment opportunities, and I believe that this can be validated by the fact that many women have been conditioned to "marry well and let him take care of you". Unfortunately, this is often times a tempting choice, .....
