John Proctor, a local villager, was a firm believer that the rumor of witchcraft in the village was nonsense and was completely indifferent to the idea that witches even existed. Movie: Othello
Words: 875 - Pages: 4.... him to pursue Desdemona, even though Desdemona is already married.
Although this is a blatent lie on Iago's part, as the viewer sees not a single
hint that Desdemona even acknowledges Roderigo's existance, it is so cleverly
delivered to Roderigo that he takes as a fact, even when the facts show
otherwise. Iago controls Emilia through her love that she has for him. He uses
her love of him to get her to steal Desdemona's handkerchief. Othello is
manipulated by suggestion and hints that are carefully worded and said at just
the right moment. Each one weakens his faith in Desdemona a little more. Then
Iago produces “evidence” t .....

Powder
Words: 611 - Pages: 3.... developing a philosophy in an attempt to affect the audience, and having
powder embody that philosophy so that people will see him as some sort of role
model. In general, this idea could work, but the writer of this particular film
obviuosly missed the boat here.
Instead of the independence imbodied in most people, Powder belives in a
unification of all humans, every single one, through some sort of single-
consciousness. The idea of using Powder as a role model can work, but the
audience has to view powder as being worthy. Here Powder views people, unwilling
to accept the idea of a single-consciousness solely on faith, as closed-mind .....

To Kill A Mockingbird: A Movie Review
Words: 498 - Pages: 2.... Most of the film centres around
the trial of Tom Robinson, the black man charged with rape. The message it
portrays is one of what parts of society were very racist, and quite strict.
I feel that the lines in the movie are mostly believable, for the most part.
It is obvious that some of the phrases that were used by the children are
slightly forced, and unnatural. The language and vocabulary that were
utilized throughout the film I found to be fitting the characters. With
the acting, I was not impressed, however. It seemed to me that the acting
was very novice and awkward. Gregory Peck was the only actor that I felt
had much offerab .....

having to ask each person what is going on in their lives. Instead people

something is wrong. “Somebody sick?[Howie Newsome]. Pair of twins over to
Mrs. Goruslawski’s [Dr. Gibbs]. Twins, eh? This town’s gettin’ bigger
every year [Howie] (Wilder, 828).” It is best for the community to know
what is going on so they can help out each other if needed. Gossip builds
strong communities and allows them to function and prosper.
Another positive effect of gossip is th .....
