Essay On The Movie "Lord Of The Flies"
Words: 385 - Pages: 2.... they did not edit the
movie carefully. When a scene was cut you could focus on a different picture,
then go back to what happened. My second example is that the movie was black
and white. Since their was a lot of special effect in the film the movie should
have been coloured. The special effects would have looked neater since a lot of
killing was shot. If the movie was coloured the audience would focus on the
screen often, rather than seeing a black and white screen.
The settings and the props were not prepared well. My first example is that the
boys shirts, were clean everyday. Their clothes should be black and grey,
because of .....

‘To Be Or Not To Be’
Words: 1786 - Pages: 7.... Hamlet in order to discover the reason for his madness. In a dithered state, Hamlet enters the room where Ophelia resides. Before confronting her he takes a moment to ponder upon the situation that he is battling.
Shakespeare divides the soliloquy into three sections. The first section begins with the question ‘ to be or not to be…’ and ends with the second repetition of ‘To die-to sleep.’ In this section Hamlet concentrate’s on the two courses of action he can take; to live or to die. The theme within this part is centered on the ‘question.’ The second part begins with ‘To sleep’ and concludes with the question ‘Than .....

Revenge In Hamlet
Words: 1176 - Pages: 5.... the Tragedy of Hamlet. These were the family of King Fortinbras, the family of Polonius, and the family of King Hamlet. The heads of each of these families are all slaughtered within the play. Fortinbras, King of Norway, was killed by King Hamlet; slaughtered by sword during a man to man battle. "…our valiant Hamlet-for so this side ofour known world esteem'd him-did slay this Fortinbras." This entitled King Hamlet to the land that was possessed by Fortinbras because it was written in a seal'd compact. Polonius was an advisor to the King, and father to Laertes and Ophelia. He was nosy and arrogant, and he did not trust hischildren .....

A Letter To Shakespeare
Words: 611 - Pages: 3.... when Juliet
says, "Romeo, Romeo, where for art thou Romeo?", I think it would be much better
if she simply said something to the affect of "Romeo, where are you?" since that
is practically all she is saying. And at the end of the balcony scene, instead
of Juliet saying "Parting is such sweet sorrow," although that is very dramatic,
she could just say something like, "I wish you didn't have to go so soon."
Another part that I noticed was in the scene where Mercutio was
insulting Tybalt, right before they fought in the streets of Verona. Mercutio
had called Tybalt "prince of cats" since Tybalt was an ordinary name for house
cats at t .....

Moliere's "The Imaginary Invalid"
Words: 1774 - Pages: 7.... such as masculinity versus femininity, greed versus love,
and death versus life.
Two of the major changes from the text to the play are Argan's degree of
illness and his death. In the text, there are very few elaborate descriptions of
Dr. Purgon's treatment. However in the play by Panych, there is no shortage of
enemas and other "bathroom" related scenes. I originally thought this change was
for comical purposes, but after some additional thought I questioned whether
Argan was imagining his illness or if he really was ill. In the text, by not
having too many bathroom scenes, Argan seems to be imagining his illness (thus,
he is the imagina .....

The Taming Of The Shrew: Mistaken Identities
Words: 869 - Pages: 4.... to treat Sly as their master, he too pretends to be a servant. The
most amusing part of this induction occurs when Sly becomes convinced that he is
indeed a nobleman. When he first awakes, he thinks that everyone is playing a
joke on him. After some convincing, Sly gives in and believes that he really
was suffering from a long sickness. When Sly asks the page, who is pretending
to be his wife to undress and join him in bed, the audience must have reacted
with loud laughter knowing that his ‘wife' is actually the same sex as he.
Although Sly does not understand the lifestyle of the upper-class, it is quite
obvious that he is .....

George A Custer, Calamity Jane, and outlaws such as the James Brothers, the original Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, and Billy the Kid).
Westerns are often set on the American frontier during the last part of the 19th century (1865-1900) following the Civil War, in a geo .....

Macbeth: How Does The Play's Imagery Help Us To Understand Its Themes And Characters?
Words: 621 - Pages: 3.... news of the battle. This
opening sentence sets the scene for the whole of the play, a bloody war.
There is more blood when MacBeth and his lady have killed Duncan, the
blood symbolises guilt so Lady MacBeth smears blood onto the guards and
then cleans herself of the blood on her.
"A little water clears us of this deed," meaning that if there is
no blood on them they can not be guilty.
Banqueting, eating and food symbolise a happy and unsuspecting
atmosphere. When you are in a crowd you feel safe and not threatened. If
you are with a lot of people when there is a crime you have a very strong
alibi. When Macbeth was at his ban .....

The Tragedy Of Hamlet
Words: 914 - Pages: 4.... proves to be fatal for him. An example of how Polonius'
innocent involvement with the royalty results in his death can be found at
the beginning of Act III, scene iv, when Hamlet stabs him while he is
hiding behind the arras in Gertrude's room. This shows how Polonius, a man
unaware of the true nature of the situation he is in, is killed by a member
of the royalty during the execution of one of their schemes. This makes
Polonius' death a tragedy.
The next member of Polonius' family to die is his daughter Ophelia.
Ophelia's death is tragic because of her complete innocence in the
situation. Some may argue that Polonius .....

The James Bond Phenomenon
Words: 668 - Pages: 3.... some ways anyway. Hey if they suck so much why
can't you stop watching them? Why have they made so many of them? eh? thats what
I thought. I had my doubts about watching all these James Bond movies, but they
were all good. Sean Connery Played a nice cool, slick James Bond, well so did
the others but he was better at it because he naturally is cool and slick.
Pierce Bronsman played also as a cool, slick James Bond, he really looked like
he was a spy, he kept his cool, I really liked that scene in Golden Eye when he
is at the tanks of fuel where the satellite comes out of the water and they are
shooting at him and there is sparks right next t .....
