At first, the simple head of the household could perform the rituals; however, they became increasingly complex as the centuries passed. Consequently, it became necessary to create a priestly class and to train those priests to perform the rituals correctly. During this time, the Vedas were written to give the priests instructions as how to perform the rituals (Halverson 87-88). Dean C. Halverson quotes:

Alcohol And The Church
Words: 504 - Pages: 2.... the home but in the schools as well. To reach the
heart of the problem is to face the problem head on. As a social drinker
myself (I put my self in this classification) I don't feel I have an alcohol
problem just because I enjoy a drink now and then. I do not abuse it and would
never put myself behind the wheel of a car to take the risk of taking someone
else's life. You don't need to be drunk to cause an accident, it's been proven
in many cases only a few drinks can impair someone's stability. If more thought
of this there would be less tragedies on our highways. When it comes to food and
there are people starving in the world, when we .....

How could the ark cope with disposing of the wast .....

Prayer In Public Schools
Words: 320 - Pages: 2.... do not support school prayer and feel it is unconstitutional. The constitution neither mandates nor prohibits prayer in schools. It does not say that is unconstitutional, therefore, it is not unconstitutional. One may argue that school prayer is unfair, divisive, or just plain dumb, but it is not unconstitutional, and apparently it will take an amendment to make that clear.
Finally, there is the issue of church and state. Some people feel that religious beliefs have flourished in this country, not in spite of, but because of the constitutional separation of church and state. The first amendment does not separate God and government, .....

Christianity: What Does God Mean?
Words: 523 - Pages: 2.... who are also spirits that we are told about in The Bible. We have to make the distinction that God is a Spirit apart from other beings. So, how do we make the distinction? There is only one place to get that knowledge. Within the God’s Written word. ”For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? Even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.” That spirit can be compared with God for man was made in His image. Man’s spirit can not be seen, or felt, weighed or measured. We really can’t explain what a spirit is, in all honesty, because it is mystery that eludes precise definition .....
