this new technology to transfer images back and forth to its ships.
In 1929 David Sarnoff invested $50 million dollars into the development
of television sets. In 1935 Sarnoff committed RCA to the development of

Working Mothers
Words: 1143 - Pages: 5.... of being full-time homemakers
and mothers, such as monotonous housework, dependence on the male partner for
financial and emotional support, increases self-esteem because they are
contributing to the world they live in. These women receive a renewed interest
in life because they are in the thick of it. They are living life to the
fullest. This model is the one that is constantly referred to as “bad” because
it paints the woman as someone who does not really care about the effect of
working will have on the baby. In fact, most of these mothers have made this
choice with painstaking care. They are constantly feeling what everyone is .....

Women In The Labour Force December 17, 1992
Words: 1045 - Pages: 4.... force is
most participated in the age groups between 20 and 24. The labour force of
mature women is very high in Sweden, because of the encouraged day care
facilities which also provides the females with legislation that provides them
with excellent benefits. In Japan there is a drop in female economic activity,
the reason why is it affects their marriage and the care of their only child.
An observation of labour force participation rates in Canada show that
female rates rose a lot between 1971 and 1981, while the male rate rose
unnoticeably. The increase in the female participation rate was found in all
age groups except in .....

Affirmative Action's Fight Against Racism And Sexism
Words: 523 - Pages: 2.... action, there is one case that I feel displays why affiramtive action is so needed in the work place. There was a case in 1975 concerning 28 of the local Sheet Metal Workers' International Assoc. The association had been discriminating against black workers. They adopted discriminating admission criteria, restricted the size of memebership and organized shops with very few minority workers. In reaction to this, the Supreme Court backed an order ruling that the associaton required a 29% minority membership goal. Without an actual court ruling, blacks would still be fighting for a fair chance at "white-dominated" positions.

African American Vs. Caucasian Americans
Words: 400 - Pages: 2.... Caucasians they are rarely in groups of
three or more. To top it off when someone in one of their groups gets in trouble
the rest of the group is nowhere to be found. Most times when you see young
Caucasian people in a group they are for the most part within a normal speaking
level. These two groups tend to act differently in the public due to their
cultural differences. There are a number of differences between the churches of
African Americans and Caucasians. At most typical African American churches
there are no true sermons. The African American churches tend to do more
entertaining rather than teaching. They also do a great deal of sin .....

Welfare
Words: 636 - Pages: 3.... The ability to
absorb more welfare recipients is limited by the high- technology chemical,
agricultural, fiber and pharmaceutical development and manufacturing. These
workers would have limited skills. Monsanto is highly protecteive of the privacy
of its special new hires. The new employees are hired to fill a variety of
clerical and light general- labor positions. They will not be identified as the
company's welfare-to-work initiative.
The possible short-term effect this would have on society is that people,
on welfare, would be able to work and get paid for it. This will allow them to
be able to build finance of their own that they .....

Feminism
Words: 681 - Pages: 3.... stopped. This playing an important role in
constructivism--to borrow a generally recognizable label for convenience
sake. (Richard A. Rogers, "Constructivism, Feminism and Nature: Does
Language Have to In-Form?") It was convenient for a woman to have no
education, but be attractive and get married at a young age. A man to
take care of their needs, but did they really?
With that question, I bring about the topic of feminism. Were
women totally unparalell then with today's working woman? A question
often asked, but never really dissolved. My point in tact would be women
were basically the same emotionally, but had a gr .....

You Must Have Rules To Be Free
Words: 354 - Pages: 2.... "I hate
school", well I guess you'd never see him there. You're probably thinking
that not all kids would stay home, and I agree but the majority of kids
would stay home a lot because they didn't feel like going, probably causing
them to miss a lot of important information. Causing them to fail.
Finally, Think about a sporting event you compete in or participate.
What would it be without rules? It wouldn't be anything. People could
get hurt if certain rules missing. Ever try playing football or soccer
without rules. It usually turns into a blood bath. But with rules it
loses some of its blood but it doesn't lose its fun in playi .....

Curfews
Words: 710 - Pages: 3.... into societies trash bag, never to be used again.
Parents have plenty of things to worry about when it comes to their children: if they smoke, if they’re hanging out with the wrong crowd, or if they are getting good enough grades. With all these worries, it seems nonsensical to throw one more worry on the already large pile of worries parents have to deal with. “My kids are home-schooled,” complains mother Tiana Hutchinson, “I shouldn’t have to worry about them getting arrested every time I send them outside to play.” (“Do You Know Where Your Children Are?” 4).
Parents aren’t the only ones upset with this problem-ca .....

The Battle Of The Sexes
Words: 590 - Pages: 3.... the skinny frail men
who switch roles and that is perfectly fine. This becomes a problem when the
massive dumb man wants to be a successful secretary with his amazing eight words
per minuit typing speed and the skinny little twig woman wants to be a
lumberjack. Men and women have to realize that some jobs are meant for someone
more fitting then what they are.
When god created women, he gave them the ability to have children. This
advantage kind of gives women superiority over men. I'm sure if men were able
to they would have children, but they can't. Back in the eighteen hundreds it
was expected that women stay home and take care of .....
