American Self Perception Vs. The Truth
Words: 919 - Pages: 4.... in the United States Constitution. Americans
believe the constitution sketches the "American Dream" which is having a family,
money, and the freedom to pursue happiness. Every American will stand by the
line derived from the Constitution, "All men are created equal." In actuality,
the constitution outlined the freedom for rich white landowners to achieve
unchecked power and wealth. At the time of the framing of the constitution,
blacks were slaves thus all men were NOT created equal. Women were equally
excluded from the constitution as suffrage wasn't even a consideration at the
time. The only class groups which the American Cons .....

Marriage Relationships
Words: 434 - Pages: 2.... that there was too much
emphazes being placed on serious committment.
On the subject of contraception anf family planning we had no
disagreements. We felt that before having children we must first be able
to establish ourselves financially. So once our respective careers were
settled upon we could then plan when we would have children. However,
until we did decide to have children we agreed that contraception would be
used.
The discussion we had on which topics which couples should agree upon
was filled with lots of disagreements. We agreed that couples should agree
on topics such as issues concerning the children, and majo .....

Is Television Good Or Bad?
Words: 382 - Pages: 2.... located. I think that this is an excellent use of television and more use should be made of it in education, because it offers many advantages to classroom teaching.
The drama serials on television are neither entertaining or educational. These shows simply depict "real life" (in the broadest sense of the term) and therefore do not teach or entertain (otherwise life itself would be entertaining!) I think that these programs should not be shown. Comedy programs, however, make viewers laugh, feel better, and make people generally happier. These programs should be encouraged, instead of the ‘real life’ dramas.
Sports programs and broadcas .....

How To Win An Argument
Words: 885 - Pages: 4.... or hobby, then disregard the above.
The next item to take into consideration is your background on the topic. You
should never enter an argument you have no information about, because it will
only end in “your mother is a .....” insults. In a factual argument, it is
helpful if the truth is on your side, but as we've learned from our politicians,
it is not necessary. However, if the truth does eventually get out you may end
up looking like a fool. In a multi-sided argument, an argument which is not
dealing in absolute truths, but rather different opinions, it is preferable to
believe in the side you for which you are arguing, but isn't .....

Demographics
Words: 406 - Pages: 2.... of facts we will look at is the comparison of total
black population vs. total white population . In New York in 1990 there
were 10,653,051 whites and 2,805,115 blacks .From this information we can
assume a few things . This shows that in even such a state with one of the
most cosmopolitan cities(NYC) that most likely there will be more whites
seen throughout. With a higher white population there will probably be more
white community leaders, government officials .There will be more whites in
the workforce .
The total black persons was 2,805,115 vs.blacks in rural 53,940 . I
would deduce that more jobs for blacks in less rural areas . I .....

Gender Stereotypes
Words: 1402 - Pages: 6.... that glitters is gold and to give them
a better perception of the world. That of course does not mean that parents are
affected less by the TV. On the contrary, they are often more affected than
their kids, of course not by cartoons, but by shows that contain information
about serious subjects such as parenthood. Concerned with being good parents,
people are accumulating a lot of information on the subject. As the information
can be very helpful, sometimes it can be destructive. That is the case when it
comes to the problem of "tomboys" and "sissies." What are these two terms used
for? The term "tomboy" is used when referring to a gi .....

of the workings of the marketplace, foreign food aid begins trucked to famine
areas from ships at the docks passed food leaving the famine areas on other
vehicles. Merchants were taking food from famine areas to parts of the country
where there was no famine. World Hunger and poverty can be seen in many ways.
But first lets establish a solid definition of poverty : Poverty is a state in

themselves, their families, and their community is weakened or blocked. When
someone lacks food, this is referred to as material poverty. This sort .....

Teens And Sex

to use them. They would have them or be able to get them if they need to use
them. This would cut down on unprotected sexual intercourse and prevent the
pregnancies, sexually transmitted diseases, and H.I.V. infection. If a student
was at a party and decided, on the spur of the moment, to engage in sexual
intercourse, then it is more likely that they have a condom if schools
distributed them. This sounds good in theory, but will it really work? If
schools distribute condoms, shouldn't they also teach the students how to use
them and teach them a little abou .....

Women In Abusive Relationships
Words: 521 - Pages: 2.... chair.
Children don’t deserve to be put in a foster home. A child needs
to have their natural mother and father. There have been many cases in
which siblings are split up into different foster homes. They have a
chance of not seeing their sibling again. It can sometimes take as long
as twenty years before they see their sibling. They have missed all those
wonderful years of growing up, laughing and playing as brother or sister.
If the child is at the age at knowing what’s going on, then it’s probably
going to be hard for them to adjust to a new family. It could cause them
to have problems in school, getting into trouble, and n .....

Instilling A Child's Values
Words: 573 - Pages: 3.... witnesses an unethical act performed by his
parents, he will think that it is okay. The fact is that children who didn't
have good parents, generally, don't grow up into very respectable adults. The
old saying goes: “Monkey see, monkey do.” It may sound like a cheap cliche,
but there is a lot of truth to it.
While raising a child, a parent might find that sometimes the child is
not learning the morals that the parent is trying to instill in their child. In
that case, a parent should discipline him. Discipline shows the importance of
values in a whole different way. When a child is punished for something he or
she did that was wron .....
