Gender Socialization
Words: 795 - Pages: 3.... We seem to accept that blue is for boys and pink is for girls.
Boys generally play with balls, toy trucks and building blocks whereas
girls spend their time with dolls, tea sets and stuffed animals. But these
are the stereotypes that are influenced by the parents. A baby child isn't
concerned with his or her gender identity. As the child gets older though,
he or she will begin to develop an identity for his or herself and
establish a personality that reflects their masculinity or femininity.
During early stages of a child's life the mother is the dominant

Child Exploitation
Words: 574 - Pages: 3.... sure that we protect our future. Yet, child camel jockeys are cheered on by these same organizations when they visit these regions. They concentrate on sweatshops while around the world people are literally getting away with murder. Our trust rests, supposedly safely, in these people’s hands in hopes that they will pick up the slack for the rest of society. Then we are shown these films and pictures and we wonder, “Where are these saviors of the children? Where are these protectors of the future?” Where indeed. We cannot leave the problems facing our world in the hands of someone else. We can no longer just feed money to these .....

Blacks: Indirectly Enslaved

Without the black’s rights, they were kept enslaved because they were not able to do anything and had to depend on the whites. They were now dependent on the white southerners because they had no land and couldn’t vote to do anything about the land they lost. They had to depend on the whites for survival. Later, the Radical Republicans became a major part of the Congress and passed the Freedman’s Bureau, and the 13th, 14th, and 15th amendments. The Freedman’s Bureau and the amendments gave the blacks help politically, socially, .....

minutes a woman is raped, every 45 minutes a woman is kidnapped or abducted.

brown-outs, increased inflation, more unemployment, and other economic setbacks.
Thus, the economy and environment were handled separately with respect to the
other. Of course, this upset many people and gave them a sense of insecurity in
their jobs. Some said that the United States of America could not afford to
preserve the environment and progress economically at the same time.
In very recent times, those same critics have changed their stand and
now believe that preserving and cleaning the environment while progressing
economically are achieved mutually. Government programs, the p .....

Words: 415 - Pages: 2.... and that I would be dropped into the trash when I stopped
working the way I was supposed to.
After a short while I found some inspiration from an unknown point. I
had realized I would not succeed in this battle called life without serious work.
The only one who could help me was me. I knew that I wasn't meant to do the
exact same thing for the rest of my life. I had to escape this bottomless pit
and move on to the next adventure. "I had several more lives to live and could
not spare any time for that one."
I moved on to another life. My "new" life was very hard to get used to,
but was well worth the trouble. I began trying new things .....

Time For Americans To Be A Family
Words: 694 - Pages: 3.... to do the right thing.
From the time I was little boy, I have seen one particular group called colored,
Negro, black, and now, African-American. I can't seem to find a consensus out
there in any media, one moment the reference is to blacks, and the next to
African-Americans, when they are referring to the same group of people.
I'm not knocking what people want to call themselves, it's the mixed messages
I'm getting and the inaccuracy of the terminology that frustrates me.
Look around and you will see there is the National Association for the
Advancement of Colored People, the Black Muslims, and African-Americans.
All of these terms ar .....
