.... Helen always tried her best to grant stays of execution or a court appeal. She fought for what she believed in and tried her best to abolish the death penalty. Sister in no way condemned what these killers had done, but tried her best to comfort them in their time of loneliness, sorrow, and need. Sister Helen’s first case, Patrick Sonnier, better influenced my opinion on capital punishment. Her strategies in dealing with a convicted killer were brave and courageous. She was always willing to meet with Patrick and to talk about anything he liked. She helped him to realize his mistake, but more importantly, helped him to become a b .....

First, it is interesting to note the altercation between Cain and Abel in comparison to Abel's killing of the white man. Then, the Germans created a curfew prohibiting Jews to go during certain hours. Any Jew caught in the street after curfew would be taken as hostage. Like Hagar, Lees has no actual faith in religion, and says that "I kind of mislaid it and when I went to look for it, it wasn't there". This loss created a permanent distrust in religion for Murray Lees, something Hagar also has. At the end of the first chapter Gatsby was seen stretching his arms toward the green light appearing as to be worshipping it. Gatsby saw his dream or goal and never gave up. He remained loyal to his quest until death at the end of the novel. Gatsby moved into the mansion across the bay to be near Daisy. The green light symbolized that Gatsby had a hope of winning Daisy. Gatsby has more morals than the Buchanans, but he also used dishonesty to achieve his goals. During a time of prohibition, Gatsby made all of his money by bootlegging liquor. Not only can Chaucer’s exquisite detail be seen in the physical descriptions of his characters, but it can also be seen as he describes the personalities of his characters as well. Chaucer not only describes his characters with astounding detail, but he also creates a very individualized specific personality profile that allows the readers to see what goes on inside the characters. Chaucer allows the reader to see the story through an omniscient point .....
