Perhaps people would be more comftorble with the book if they could rule out in their minds the possibility of the profecy becoming a reality. One way Shelley shows nature as an inspiration is through the geography of the settings. In the beginning of the novel when Victor lives in Geneva it is described, as isolated and dwarfed by massive snow capped mountain ranged and hunted be the emptiness of the lake. Later on in the novel and in the letters in the beginning Shelly puts the characters in the wildest, most isolated areas in Europe: The Swiss and French Alps, the Rhine Valley, the Outer Hebrides of Scotland, Northern Ireland, R .....

.... the night and as he is alone in his room he feels lonely and sort of depressed so he goes to the bar in the hotel for a drink. All the people in the bar make him even more depressed so he decides to call it a night. On the way to his room, in the elevator the elevator attendant offers to send him up a hooker for the night. Being a virgin Holden decides to take him up on the hooker. Once the hooker makes it up to his room he gets cold feet and decides not to have sex with her and just talk. The hooker gets mad at Holden for wasting her time and leaves. Minutes later the hooker’s pimp comes looking for money and eventually ends up bea .....

.... two obvious typos in the text. Chalk it up to careless copy editing--some of it possibly due to the transition between Ventana and Coriolis. Not the authors' faults, but unfortunately, it detracts from the book. I found it annoying, at any rate. Since the original Official Netscape Guide to Internet Research had Ms. Calishain's byline, the second edition differs because it talks to readers in the "we" collective voice, instead of first-person "I".
