Book Report On Jack London's "Call Of The Wild"
Words: 704 - Pages: 3.... and fatal battle with Buck. The description
of the final fight is mesmerizing, London goes inside of both dogs' heads
and gives reasons for all the actions that real dogs would do.
Realism is also a major part of the novel. It is in no way padded
with goodness to leave the reader with a warm sensation in his heart. At
times, the way in which beatings of the dogs are described makes the
reader want to close the book. Throughout the book, Buck is severely
abused by humans. Upon being taken from his home to learn to be a sled
dog, Buck is beaten senseless for no reason other that to learn to respect
and fear the man in the red shirt. From .....

to a separation between Hareton and his father as well. One primary example
of an uncaring parent is shown between Heathcliff and his son Linton.
Heathcliff did not even want his son for anything except enacting a part of
his revenge. This is shown by Linton's fear of Heathcliff and Heathcliff's
enmity toward his son. Linton even says “... my father threatened me, and I
dread him - I dread him!”(244) to express his feeling about Heathcliff .
The hostility and separation between father and son in this book shows that
uncaring parents can cause serious damage in relationships with their

Hawthorne calls Pearl a “creature” which shows that she immediately has a label of an outcast or something other than human. Hawthorne’s use of the word “creature” implies that Pearl stands out in her society and shows the obviousness of her label as an outcast. He then calls Pearl a “lovely and immortal flower” which shows her physical beauty, which is ironic because he has already labeled her a “creature”. Hawthorne uses description and symbolism to show how Hester Prynne feels about her daughter. “But she named the infant “Pearl”, .....
