Personal Writing: Good Art
Words: 355 - Pages: 2.... a movie called Scream. It was a movie that had
recently come out of the theaters and was now on video cassette. I didn’t
go see it in the theater, but I heard that it was a pretty cool movie. We
sat there and watched it and when it was done I was in awe. All I could
say was “that is the best movie in history!”
In my mind, the movie was perfect. It was full of everything that
I like in a movie. It had mystery, suspense, and most of all it was a
thriller. I got to try to figure out who the killer was and as it turned
out, there was actually two killers which made it even better. Another
thing that was good about it was that y .....

Personal Writing: Statues On Campus
Words: 444 - Pages: 2.... looked, I have know idea how long it has been there but it looks kind of dull.
This statue also kind of reminded me of the statue of the man who has his face in his hand thinking about things. I do not know what it is called but it reminded me of that statue because of the intentitive look on face. The person in the statue looks intent on reading or studying, and looks like he understands the literature that he is reading.
When came back to look at the statue Sunday night when it was dark out, I saw few changes that caught my eye. First was the way the lights around the library reflex off the statue. It makes the statue seem that in was j .....

Five years have pasted since my brother first left home. I'm away at

Creative Writing: Destroying Racism
Words: 1128 - Pages: 5.... and this time came back to a message on the lawn.
I sat there that day watching cars go by their house as if it were
haunted or something. I guess it can happen anywhere. But this snow-covered
house is still a reflection of America, white on top with a hatred burning
underneath. I go to a college, where the races meet every day. Colored man helps
white man; white man helps colored man. Doesn't sound right ? That's how bad
our society has gotten. Disturbing? Of course. But what is more disturbing is,
lately when these issues of racism have come up, there seems to be impatience
and annoyance. "Does everything have to be racism?" people .....

Personal Bond With My Friends During Tennis Camp
Words: 692 - Pages: 3.... and taught us the basic skills. My problem was that I didn't want to
learn the introductory aspect of tennis, I wanted to start playing the actual
game. While Suzanne and Erin were diligently practicing their forehand and
backhand motions, I took private lessons focusing on my serve. Glancing their
way, I would see them laughing and chatting as they walked to the clubhouse for
a snack during a break. By expending all my energy on the game, I had hoped
that my friends would respect my ability and that it would bring us closer
together. Instead, I felt they were ostracizing me, which wasn't truly the case.
Even so, Suzanne and Erin .....

The Loss Of A Friend
Words: 514 - Pages: 2.... feeling. Her brother was just taken away from her and there was nothing I could do to ease her pain. I left her house feeling empty and scared. The funeral would be in two days and Amanda needed me to be there for her. The next two days seemed to drag. Dread and anxiety filled my body. The day was coming and I had no idea what to expect.
The day of the funeral was a beautiful summer day. The sky was blue with not one cloud visible. It seemed ironic that a day filled with such sorrow had such a gorgeous setting. I remember walking into the funeral home seeing so many faces filled with pain. Amanda was sitting with her family. She t .....

was truly a patriotic moment to see General Washington break the first ground at
the Siege of Yorktown.
We had sent a small band of men to the western side of us to fire on the
British. Our plan worked and all the British inside were soon firing on them
while we dug our trenches. When dawn came around they saw their mistake and
started firing on us but no harm was done. It took nine days to dig all of the
trenches. Finally on October 15th we were prepared to start the siege.
As the American Flag rose ten cannons fired simultaneously. Since we
were firing from 150 ft. away our cannons had a de .....

said Mr. White. He held the monkeys paw high in the air and said, "I wish I

perfect description of Peter Quint, the valet to the governess' employer
but that Mr. Quint was dead.
One afternoon shortly afterward, a second ghost appeared. This time
the ghost of Miss Jessel, the former governess, appeared in the garden to

situation was that the little girl refused to let the governess know that
she had seen the figure and knew who it was.
