My Trip To The Philippines
Words: 474 - Pages: 2.... used Chinese, then that will be the
time for me to reply. I run to my father's room, crying, and telling that
someone is in my room and I doesn't know why he was there. After my father
solved the problem for me. We were all laughing about it.
My father said, "In the Philippines, eating with hands are their culture, you
will never see this in Taiwan." In Taiwan, everybody use chopsticks to eat.
Nobody will use spoon and folk to eat, because that's a kind of hard. Just like
my first time used the spoon and folk. I doesn't know either to use my left hand
to hold spoon or use my right hand.
People have longer weekend than Taiwan. Both Sunday .....

My Trip On The Ganges River
Words: 419 - Pages: 2.... paradise. I should point out that the
river is only sacred to Hindus. It was interesting to find out that each year,
thousands of Hindu pilgrims visit such holy cities as Benares and Allahabad
along the banks of the Ganges. They go there just to bathe in the river and to
take home some of its water.
The Ganges River is so important to the Indians that they call it "Ganga
Mata" or Mother Ganges. It is also the greatest waterway in India and one of the
largest in the world. Temples line the riverbank, and stairways, called ghats,
lead down to the water. I am enclosing one of the pictures I took of the Ganges
River.
The river is an importan .....

Personal Writing: Devon
Words: 576 - Pages: 3.... his attention.
When he reached the table I shook his hand and introduced myself. He
introduced himself "Hi my name is Devon." He sat down on the other side of
the small table.
Devon is well known in the coffee shop. He goes to the coffee shop
about 3 times a week and tries to meet someone new every time he goes. He
is really nice and it's not hard for him to make friends. Almost everyone
in the shop know who he is. If he sees someone he doesn't know he'll go up
and talk to them.
Devon told me why he dressed the way he does, "I do it to show
people that everyone is different and to like them for who they are."
Devon does not t .....

On Taunting Lacy Lou
Words: 793 - Pages: 3.... further through this jungle, my eyes gazed upon the tree. The tree, our tree, had been a goalie for soccer, a hiding place for man- hunt, and a shelter for all sorrows. The tree seemed to guard the tomb where we had buried her that cold July morning. She had died peacefully and painlessly. At least those thoughts are what I clung to after waking up drenched in cold sweat and tears. With the whisper of a breeze, I was flung back into the watercolors of my memory, and one nightmare mural of my childhood protruded.
The heat lavishly fed the dirt pathway with the first freezer pops of summer. School had been out for three days, and lobster .....

Personal Writing: Learning About Myself
Words: 802 - Pages: 3.... know. Something about myself that I have learned is that
sometimes you do not know what to expect of me. I like to be spontaneous,
and I like a lot of excitement. My family can never tell what I am going
to do. That afternoon they might have been wondering exactly what they
should expect.
I did not want to go to the top of the mountain. It would take a
long time, and we wanted to go shopping and head back to our cabin before
it got too late. I walked into the woods and soon I was beside a lake
totally enveloped in fog. I was facing a rock wall. The blue dots on the
wall indicated that the trail went straight up. Wonderful memories .....

Personal Writing: Bad Teacher
Words: 191 - Pages: 1.... a couple of times, over a two-week period,
she told me that I couldn't go anymore, but I sneaked passed her and went
anyway. A week later, I got hurt again, so I snuck past her again even
though she had told me not to go. That afternoon, she insulted me in front
of everybody in the class; thus, I thought of her as a mean witch. Later
that school year, I accidentally placed my finger in the doorway and
someone slammed it without knowing my finger was there. She didn't care;
therefore, she didn't tell me what to do. Consequently, I had to hold the
two parts of my finger and run upstairs alone. Even though it hurt a lot, I
was happy to be awa .....

Personal Writing: Boot Camp
Words: 1294 - Pages: 5.... for being so loud and insubordinate on the bus. Some people
started crying because they couldn't do any more pushups, but still were
forced to do more.
You are probably asking, why didn't they just stop and refuse to do
the pushups? The answer is because your parents paid a lot of money for
you to go to this program. A fee of about five hundred dollars all
together. That money is for the uniforms, bus ride, reserved tickets for
the bunks, and money needed when on the base.
After that the worn out bus load was escorted to a room with other
cadets from other cities. All together there was about four hundred kids
fro .....

Self-Reflective Essay
Words: 354 - Pages: 2.... way you carry yourself has a great impact
in your future career. In the medical field, there is a lot of caring and
attention involved with doctors and the patient. You have to make the
patients feel like they are wanted, and you as a doctor, can help them with
any problem or disorder they may have. In my case I decided to work with
children, since I was once a child and I have worked with them before(at a
summer camp).
Even though I may be early, I have been able to observe others on
the way they behave. I especially observe children, since I want to deal
with them as a career. In order to do this, I decided to work at a daycare,
do some .....

Candidate For Hall Secretary Speech
Words: 1092 - Pages: 4.... that this was truly the best hall and I longed to be part of that family. I can even remember developing the attitude that I was already a Milnerite, a misconception I was forced to reconsider(1) after requesting a hall jacket and being turned down and(2) by the hall name that I was recently given. Tonight I want to thank all involved for giving this VAGRANT a home in which to live and to plead for the opportunity to express my gratitude by serving this great hall.
I accept your nomination with a deep sense of humility. I accept, too, the responsibility that goes with it, and I seek your continued guidance and support. The task would .....

"Tristan's Tragedy"
Words: 442 - Pages: 2.... resolved to
make her his own.
After convincing her family to allow her to wed the king, we set back on a
ship for Cornwall. I remember the night on which we fell in love. Perhaps it
was the wine, or perhaps I was merely intoxicated by her. Nonetheless, she
amazingly felt the same drawing to me, and we were unable to contain our
affections. We continued seeing one another in secret after the wedding; after
all, without love her marriage was invalid. After a while, though, our
conniving king took aware of our dealings and banished me to the barren Arundel.
It was there I met a woman of average beauty, but with the only name worth .....
