he withdrew one of the long tubes from the cardboard package. With one
hand he placed it in a precise position in his lips while the other hand
was occupied with first replacing the package to his shirt pocket, then
digging out a half used pack of matches from his too tight jeans. He was
extremely conscious of the fluidity of his movements; lighting the
cigarette with the match was the hard part, and he wanted to look as cool
as possible, smooth and flowing, for all the eyes he perceived to be on him.
He managed to execute the task to his satisfaction as he entered the staff
room above the restaurant, but only Karen was t .....

Personal Writing: First Day At Oxford High School
Words: 570 - Pages: 3.... at the school at 7:30 AM, I saw a thirty-foot tall brick building that looked like the size of two football fields put together. This made me even more nervous. Inside the gigantic school, I felt like a midget compared to the older kids, who seemed like giants. Finding the rooms where my classes were being taught was like solving a maze. The building had three stories and each level had over twelve classrooms. I had a different teacher for each class, unlike Oxford Middle School where I had only a couple of teachers. The teachers did not seem as gentle and caring as the teachers did in middle school. I only had five short minutes to .....

Leon High School Coach Billy Bob Evans
Words: 508 - Pages: 2.... I believe that it was fate when that principal told him that. During his forty six years of coaching Evans has won nine state championships, and has not been defeated in a district game since 1972.
A typical day in volleyball season is long, considering Evans coaches both high school and junior high. βWe have hard practices each day, with a lot of running and fundamentals development. Mainly trying to improve as much as we can before our next game. Game days we do not run as much and we do a little skill work, nothing to hardβ. During off season Evans works on conditioning, skills, and fundamentals. β Each day is different, we work .....

Creative Writing: Trigatipede
Words: 1630 - Pages: 6.... I was greeted by Mr. Shrinton and a few
of the other zoo investors. They quickly hurried me into a stretched
limousine, and then my life changed forever. The investors asked me quite
plainly if I would be willing to create their zoo for them. At first I was
unclear of the meaning, but quick clarification had me realizing the
enormous biological disasters such a project would generate. They wanted
me to chemically produce hybrid's of different animal species.
My first thought was that such a thing was impossible, but they
showed me research and experiments done by the government that proved it
was possible. The investors sensed my unwi .....

Personal Writing: Letter To The Future From 1996
Words: 997 - Pages: 4.... saw him looking
out at us from his little kennel that we had to have him.
I like shooting, Clay Pigeon shooting and Air Rifle Shooting. For Clay
Pigeon Shooting I have a 12 bore shotgun. To have a shotgun you need a
shotgun license. Just recently there has been an outcry for a ban on
privately owned handguns after the Dunblain massacre, which was when a
lunatic broke into a school and gunned down a class of children and their
teacher. It was tragic. The shooting I do is just for sport and is well
supervised., this handgun ban could also bring a tightening on getting a
shotgun license so it would be harder to get one. I shoot what is .....

My Vacation In Acapulco Mexico
Words: 1091 - Pages: 4.... performed by a man dressed in an authentic looking costume consisting of only a rawhide g-string with a short apron front. Creative Writing: The Big Scoop
Words: 1504 - Pages: 6.... at the meeting and about what
information I could receive from this expierence. It was not long before I was
standing in front of the modern Citicorp building. The building exterior
consisted of mainly large glass windows which provided a very vivid reflection
of the neighboring buildings, almost camouflaging its presence on the block. I
thought of how the buildings appearence is suiting for what is happening inside
at that moment. I casually walked into the revolving glass doors that stood at
the base of the building. There were plenty of stores to my left and right.
They ranged from candy stores selling snickers bars and almond j .....
