Character assassination is a personal attack where the arguer's reputation is considered evidence that his argument is false. For example, if a convicted felon out of jail has an argument, most people will not believe him because of his prior involvement with illegal matters. By rejecting his argument only because he was in jail, a personal attack has occurred. Circumstantial personal attack is another form of the fallacy. If a person thinks that university professors teach better that community college professors, then that person as .....

.... dynamic use of verbal irony. The novel also has some good situational irony. A good example is when the pigs begin to walk, something that they vowed they would never do, or when they got drunk, again, something they vowed they would never do. In addition to verbal and situational irony, we can too find some dramatic irony. When Boxer is sent off to be slaughtered, the characters trust Squealer when he says Boxer is being taking off to a hospital, but the reader knows the truth. While that is a good example, the best, perhaps, is the ending where it is stated that the onlooker could not tell the difference between pig and man. The t .....

Some of the men started talking about how they were logging on uncharted territory and this was a bad omen. Woody just laughed and said, “Uncharted territory or not, we have a job to do and I’m not going to let some little thing like this ruin my reputation. I’ll go see what the problem is.” And so Woody packed a bag with supplies and sailed off down the river to find the missing logs. In the poem, he explains exactly how an Arican-America man feels, acts and what he does in everyday life. The point that he is trying to get across to his professor is that he, the black man, likes and does the same things as the white man. In the poem he say, "I guess being colored doesn't make me not like the same things other folks like who are other races, so will my page be colored that I write?" Hughes is wondering is his paper is going to be graded differente .....

.... The chase is afoot to find the killer. As the third act unfolds, Macbeth is now the proclaimed king. At a ceremonial banquet in his honor, Macbeth is tormented by his visions of Banquo. He plans to have Banquo and his son Fleance murdered. The attempt is somewhat successful, as Banquo is killed but Fleance manages to escape. In the last few scenes of this act, Macbeth is plagued by the ghost of Banquo. People start to suspect something suspicious of Macbeth. The fourth act starts off, once again, with Macbeth visiting the witches. They tell him that he will not be harmed by a woman, and that he will not be vanquished until Birnam Wood comes .....

.... It almost seems as if he could grow to be a psychopath. He follows behind her on the way to school, waits for her before school, and watches her from his door. The young girl on the other hand, lives in the outskirts of town, if not pure country. She does not play with anybody but a younger brother she has. She worships her father and neglects her mother. She also has no respect for her mother, although later in the story, she goes on about all the hard work she does. Unlike the boy, the young girl is kept occupied with lots of work. The federal court sided with the school district in the end, but Vicki Frost did raise attention on how schoolbooks are chosen for our public schools. The book by Stephen Bates brings up a very controversial issue, should parents be able to control what their children read in public schools. Bates does not criticize either side during this book. Bates does a good job narrating the book giving good details and letting the reader make his/her own decision. Vicki Frost is a parent who does not want her kids reading books that contradi .....

The opposite of this value is conformity, an essential trait of those under a hierarchical system such as a monarchy.
