young boy who grows up through shocking yet realistic events.

through literature and other forms of entertainment, there is also a very
realistic part to this event in a person's life which is often ignored.
The coming of age is an event which is often celebrated in many different
cultures, through rituals or ceremonies. The rituals, also known as
passage rites, mark the passing of a person from one stage of life to the

Why Lady Macbeth Is More Guilt
Words: 800 - Pages: 3.... would be found more guilty than Lady Macbeth.
The very first murder in this story was committed on Duncan. This crime was planned by both Macbeth and Lady Macbeth. The actual murder was done by Macbeth, making him more guilty of the crime. Lady Macbeth just talked about committing the crime, but she never actually went through with it nor would she ever, and that is all that counts. Talking about committing the incident is very different from actually doing it. Lady Macbeth did a little more than just talk about it though. She also urged Macbeth into doing it and that is what makes her part of this crime, but she is not as guilty as Macbeth .....

Comparison Between Call Of The
Words: 365 - Pages: 2.... in his journey through the harsh cold of the Klondike. Of Mice and Men was almost equally good except for being a little more complex than Call of the Wild.

John Steinbeck gradually builds on to his stories and doesn’t get to the point as soon as Jack London but tells a compelling story in his own special way. The book that was better written was Call of the Wild because in my opinion it was very easy to read and it was one of those books were it keeps you tuned in the story all the time. The oth .....

The Crucible - A Harsh Reality
Words: 448 - Pages: 2.... When her uncle discusses her work for the Proctors, she says that "they want slaves, not such as I. Let them send to Barbados for any of them!" (12). She is prejudiced against these people and her remarks reveal her snobbishness. Finally, Abigail's snobbish character is apparent through her statements to John Proctor about his wife Elizabeth. She says, "Oh, I marval how such a strong man [can be with] such a sickly wife" (23). Abigail obviously thinks highly of herself: she is worthy of Proctor's love, but Elizabeth is not. The girl in the story was labeled as a girl, which is interesting to note because the bar-worker was labeled as a woman. The impression that is given is that she is an immature character. Her point of view is that she will do what it takes to please the man. She is nervous but is in denial; she tries to reassure herself. She feels the man’s distance from her and tries to draw him back in to her world.
The setting was very important in "" and contained a lot of symbolism. One of the first comments the girl made was that the hills were "lovely", and "looked like white elephants". The hills sy .....
