Hank becomes "the boss" of Camelot, and begins his plans to free the serfs and establish a republic. However his plans are destined to fail because he is incapable of understanding values that are different from his own; he is the ultimate know-it all, and sets out to remake the world in his own image. Ever present in this Canadian cultural satire is the theme of filial relationships and the exploration of Solomon and his re-incarnation as Sir Hyman Kaplansky, in conjunction with his family and their exploits. Every character in this novel is in some way corrupt or failure. In the book, Boo Radley is depicted as an unfriendly and not caring person while in the movie, his characteristics are not as strongly expressed. Boo Radley does not seem to be as bad in the book as he is in the movie. In conclusion, the reason why the movie is not as detailed as the book is because there are just too many important details to cover and so the movie does not add the insignificant events. The king asks the child to be cut in half, the real mother relinquishes her claim and thus gains custody of her rightful child. .... a mentally challenged person being treated poorly, or perhaps was related to one and wanted to tell the society it was not right, but put it in a way by which it touched people in their own way, depending on how they interpret the story. In the story, there was a point where Charlie was at a party and they got him drunk, and made him dance with a girl. Charlie had never been with a girl before and didn’t know what to do. They were tripping him when he was trying to dance with the girl. Later after the operation when he is smart he says "…people were laughing and making fun of me…" Maybe Daniel Keyes has seen something like this happ .....

All of these characteristics are unfit for a king, thus, leaving one reasonable explanation of him being mad, which Cordelia states in her speech to the guards.
