.... When we reached our campsite, the one we had shown up a day early to claim, we realized that city kids do not know much about setting up a tent. Without even asking the boys behind us set up our tent, asking right away if we were, "from the city". Within moments, we were talking like old friends, sharing horror stories about the drive up, complaining about the heat and anticipating the next few days. Random acts of kindness surrounded us for the whole weekend. I saw a boy climb through the mud to get someone he had just met a bottle of water. .... "I ain't Mad at Cha" is track 13 on the album All Eyes On Me. The video shows Tupac as an angel in heaven. In the video, Tupac was shot after leaving a theater with a friend, which is very similar to how he was shot in real life. Interestingly, Tupac dies in his last video released under the name "Tupac". His new video "Toss It Up" from the new album was released under the name "Makaveli . second video to be released by the name Makaveli is "To Live and Die in L.A." But how could they shoot the second video when he is "dead". Do you really think the video was shot 4 months ago, back in August of '96? Think about it in. the video "Hail Mary" .....

.... a sailor and he wears a Victorian Naval uniform. The sets are fairly elaborate. Sweeney's barber shop is above the bakery. His barber chair flips back to send the dead bodies of his victims downstairs so Mrs. Lovett can prepare them for the pies. My favorite song is the title song, "The Demon Barber of Fleet Street". It tells the story of Sweeney Todd. Although what Sweeney Todd does is wrong, I did feel sorry for him. He had lost his family and lost his mind also. Mrs. Lovett helped him for two reasons. She needed the money and she fell in love with him. I first saw this musical when I was very young. It is still one of my favorit .....

Jazz is over 100 years old, probably making it one of the longest, lasting forms of music so far. Jazz was not created by Europeans, it was created by Afro-Americans who descended from ancestors in Africa. These Afro-Americans learned how to play these European instruments well, including percussion or the drum set, trumpet, cornet, saxophone, trombone, tuba, and many other instruments. They wanted to show what they were like to other races, so they attempted to express .....

Polyphonic is when there is a melody line accompanied by harmony. A considerable amount of Adam de la Halle's polyphonic work was designed for plays. .... Blues are probable because of their African origins. To add to the musical form used to create , musicians innovated three main practices that all have origins in West African musical traditions. Cross-rhythms are multitudinously used in and are the foundation of West African drumming. The most common way of creating this beat was by separating the melodic line from the groundbeat, putting the two in rhythmic conflict. To do so, the musician would sing or play in a manner that emphasized the off beat. The second main innovation was the way musicians expressed rising emotions with falling pitch by bending or flattening certain notes with .....

In many aspects, this “classical music� would take some time to get used to. My Music Appreciation class gave me knowledge I needed to understand music that I was not already familiar with. The first couple of weeks in the class, we learned the basic elements of not just “classical� music, but all music in general. The next couple of weeks later we listened to music so could utilize the terms we learned. Works like harmony, melody, key, pitch, and chords became more outstanding to me. The first section of this essay is Rock n' Roll of the 1950's, when Rock n' Roll was born. It emerged from rhythm and blues, a music similar to jazz played by blacks. This kind of music started to attract white teenagers. Disc jockey Alan Freed was the one who introduced this music and later gave it the name of Rock n' Roll. Record companies distributed records played by whites but composed by blacks. Whites were frustrated because there weren't any white artists and they didn't want the blacks to be the stars until B .....
