Is It An Open Road?
Words: 763 - Pages: 3.... my eyes when a low, soothing male voice speaks. He tells of a warm June day driving in luxury with plenty of room “to hold lots of stuff (like my friends)”. The setting is in a peaceful countryside next to a lake with tall majestic trees including a brightly colored vehicle consuming the pavement. All I’ve caught is a glimpse of this wonderful machine that has an “engine technology that will carry me over the racetracks and to private school”. But the color makes me want to see more. Not the usual black or red. No. This car is different. This car is amazing. This car is purple. Not just any purple, but a rich, gleaming .....

wrong even before he murders Duncan, but he allows Lady Macbeth and greed to
cloud his judgement. In referring to the idea of the murder of Duncan, Macbeth
first states,"We will proceed no further in this business"(I.vii.32). Yet,
after speaking with Lady Macbeth he recants and proclaims,"I am settled, and
bend up/Each corporal agent to this terrible feat"(I.vii.7980). There is
nothing supernatural to be found in a man being swayed by the woman he loves,
as a matter of fact this action could be perceived as quite the opposite.
Second, the witches have to be dispelled as a sour .....

Macbeth: The Murder
Words: 371 - Pages: 2.... his anger
and his rage. Lady Macbeth had to fake faint to distract their dinner
guests from what Macbeth was saying. One thing that went Macbeth's way was
that Malcolm and Donalbain fled because they thought that whoever killed
their father would come back to kill them next.
Now that Macbeth was king he felt more and more paranoid about what
he had done. Macbeth hired murderers to kill Banquo and his son. The
murderers killed Banquo, but his son escaped. This meant that the
prophecy that Banquo's son would become king could still come true.

The Merchant Of Venice: Hath Not A Jew Mercy?
Words: 1345 - Pages: 5.... (I. iii. 43) This to the
sixteenth century audience would be unreasonable, and this would evoke a sort of
villainy towards Shylock. But a few moments later, the audience witnesses
Shylock's speech about Antonio's abuses towards Shylock. (I. iii. 107-130)
This speech does well in invoking the audience's pity, however little it might
be in the sixteenth century. But again at the end, Shylock offers that Antonio
give up a pound of flesh as penalty of forfeiture of the bond, which Antonio
sees as a joke, but which Shylock fully intends to collect. (I. iii. 144-78)
This action negates any pity which Shylock would have one from the audi .....
