.... the characters do. However, both of these events actually took many years ago. The fall from grace in Oedipus Rex is when Oedipus, Jocasta, and all the other characters in the story realize that Oedipus actually did murder Laius and that Jocasta is indeed his mother as well as his wife. This occurs rather quickly, very close to the end of the play. The audience sees this coming long before it actually does, however. In one of the passages of Oedipus speaking with Jocasta, just about everything is spelled out for us. Jocasta speaks of Laius leaving the castle with just a few servants and his being killed where three roads meet. Oedi .....

.... Sir Andrew says he is going to leave, but Sir Toby persuades him not to, as Olivia is not interested in the Duke. Maria leaves, and Andrew and Toby dance. Scene Four Viola, already disguised as Cesario (she is referred to as Cesario instead of Viola throughout the play), has already became a servant to the Duke. Her first job is to try and persuade Olivia to go out with the Duke. Viola has fallen in love with the Duke. Scene Five Maria and Feste the clown are talking when Olivia enters with Malvolio. She has a conversation with Feste, and he gets the better of her. Maria announces that a young ‘man' (Cesario) is here to see O .....

These rooms were filled with beautiful pictures on the well-papered walls, beautiful carpet, extravagant furniture, and windows with blinds and drapes. The rooms the poor stayed in were very small rooms with no pictures on the gray wall and no furniture except a bunk bed, of which whomever slept on top had to be careful to not bump his head on the ceiling. The poor weren’t even sure who their roommate would be until they boarded the boat and found their room. The director did show us that we shouldn’t classify people as “rich� or “poor�. .... day millions of people turn to their televisions as a form of escape from the pressures and stress of day to day life. The television, to them, serves the purpose of entertaining them for a half hour or an hour at a time. This is the purpose of sitcoms, such as the popular NBC produced shows Friends and Fraiser, each appealing to different audiences, but both comedy bases for purposes of entertaining. Humor is not the only approach used in television entertainment. Shows, such as NYPD Blue, use thick plot lines and heavy drama to draw the viewer in. Entertaining society through this media has become a multibillion dollar industry. Top .....

.... hierarchy within the universe. Everything had its own relative position beginning with Heaven, the Divine Being, and the stars and planets which are all above. On earth the king is next, then the nobles, on down to the peasantry. Holding the lowest position were the beggars and lunatics and finally, the animals. Interrupting this order is unnatural. King Lear's sin was that he disrupted this chain of being by relinquishing his throne. By allowing his daughters and their husbands to rule the kingdom, the natural order of things was disturbed. His notion that he can still be in control after dividing the kingdom is a delusi .....

The major issue is that of how class-conscious England has been put forward in the play and how the Capitalist's and Socialist's are shown. Birling is a ruthless industrialist who worked extremely hard to make his money, and when he finally reaches the top his wealth and popularity is threatened by a suicide scandal. The characters are a mixture of Capitalist's and Socialist's, Mr Birling being a self made upper-class Capitalist, his wife also has great belief in the family name, and works hard to keep a good reputation for herself and her .....

.... to kill Claudius, but instead strikes Polonius. Hamlet's and Laertes's imprudent actions are incited by fury and frustration. Sudden anger prompts both Hamlet and Laertes to act spontaneously, giving little thought to the consequences of their actions. Hamlet and Laertes share a different but deep love and concern for Ophelia. Before his departure for France Laertes provides lengthy advice to Ophelia pertaining to her relationship with Hamlet. Laertes voices his concern of Hamlet's true intentions towards Ophelia and advices her to be wary of Hamlet's love. Laertes impresses upon Ophelia, Hamlet is a prince who most likely will have an arr .....

.... men are in suits and have hats on their head. The women have dresses. The music has dramatically changed, from the beating of the native drums, to some more modern off-beat jazzy tunes. The instruments included horns, woodwinds, and other modern musical instruments. The paved road and closed space of the modern city is very different from the open tropical forests of the Zulu tribe. The start of the their act is in the city’s church. The young man’s father, the tribe leader, has decided that his son is now allowed to have a wedding in the city. In the church, it looks like the modern and traditional cultures are merged together. .....

.... the 1940's, television has been an important part of American life. Television is able to sell products like no other medium can. This incredible power of television comes from three specific areas: an inordinate amount of time spent in front of the television, it's ability to target a specific audience, and it's ability to attack the viewer on both the auditory and visual field. The time spent in front of a television continues to grow with each generation. The number of hours a child spends in front of a television is rapidly overtaking even the number of hours that they will spend in school. Included in their weekly television v .....

The others do not agree on this, arguing that the boy comes from a slum and one can't expect more from someone with this upbringing. Eight goes into the case assuming the boy is innocent, while the others attribute guilt to him. He first brings in a knife directly like the one used in the killing, to prove that it was not one of a kind. He discounts the testimony of the old man, saying it was impossible for him to hear the boy scream over the roar of the passing El-train. He also makes a point of demonstrating that it was impractical for him to reach his doo .....
