Words: 1090 - Pages: 4.... of hatred and when Lear
divided his kingdom between them, they both openly rejected his presence in
their lives. " Some other time for that. - Beloved Regan, she hath tied sharp-
tooth'd unkindness, like a vulture here, - I can speak scarce to thee ; thou'lt
not believe with how depraved quality - O Regan ( King Lear II.iii )!
Goneril's response further clarifies this rejection. " Good sir, no more ;
these are unsightly tricks : return you to my sister ( King Lear II.iii ).
Lear's reaction is pure rage. He understands that he had not given them too
much of his time, but he had given them their percentage of the kingdom only
because they .....

The Big Chill: Symbolism
Words: 393 - Pages: 2.... up" many years ago.
Another possibility is that the title symbolizes each individual's
stolid realization that a certain part of their lives was dead, or frozen.
This could refer to Alex, who had killed himself. Or it could refer to
their friendship, which pro bably dwindled down from an occasional phone
call to a seasonal letter or card, and eventually to virtual non-
communication.
The title could even have yet another "hidden" meaning. It could
refer to the group's total loss of communication with Alex. This could
have led to the point where nobody was able to see anything wrong with him,
because they just w .....

The Crucible: The Transition Of John Proctor's Character
Words: 2053 - Pages: 8.... to Proctor the relationship she
and he once had, he said to her, "No, no, Abby. That's done with," and,
"Abby, you'll put it out of mind. I'll not be comin' for you more." Even
when Abigail tried to persuade Proctor to admit his love for her, he still
denied it and claimed he had no love for her any longer. She said to him,
"I know how you clutched my back behind your house and sweated like a
stallion whenever I came near! Or did I dream that? It's she put me out,
you cannot pretend it were you. I saw your face when she put me out, and
you loved me then, and you do now." In all of Abigail's persuasion to try
to get him to admi .....

Advertising Strategy
Words: 727 - Pages: 3.... time, but in the long run, it will save us time in the
places where we need it the most. Tuesday, is the first day of the week
where we will go out and distribute 200 of the ads to places such as Best
buy and Gateway. I site these places first because of the fact that the
average house hold mother does all of her shopping earlier in the week as
opposed to later in the week. The target audience I plan to promote to
will be identified later.
On Wednesday, again two people will run off 300 ads and will be
prepared to distribute 200 of them on the following day. Thursday will be
the day that the store will be closed from 3-5 because I think .....

Hamlet: Tragedy Of Failure
Words: 2444 - Pages: 9.... father's ghost confronts Hamlet and tells him that his
death was not natural, as reported, but instead was murder. Hamlet swears
revenge. But rather than swoop instantly to that revenge, Hamlet pretends
to be insane in order to mask an investigation of the accusation brought by
his father's ghost. Why Hamlet puts on this "antic disposition" and delays
in killing Claudius is the central question of the play.
But Hamlet did not swear to his dead father that he, detective-like,
would investigate. Hamlet swore revenge. And he has more than enough
motivation to exact revenge.
Does it not, think thee, stand me now upon- .....

The Crucible's Giles Corey: More Weight
Words: 456 - Pages: 2.... Giles was not a churchgoing man. But, not realizing what he had

The hysteria over witches continues to grow, and Corey's wife is
tried as a witch. When he realizes what he has caused to happen, Giles is

Furthermore, when Giles offers evidence that Putnam falsely accused a man

to give the name so to protect him, while he himself would have to hang, an

Richard III
Words: 724 - Pages: 3.... anxieties and
insecurities lead to a hatred that has a desire to destroy, deep-rooted in
violence. Despot rulers are also never satisfied with the power they have at
any given time, thus exposing their constant fear of retaliation from their
subjects. This examination of the despot ruler by Plato clearly shows the
motives by which despot rulers rule, but it fails to explain why and how these
motives originate in the human mind.
In order to comprehend why such a high level of fear and insecurity can
be brought about, a look at the upbringing and personal life of Richard should
be brought into discussion. One of three brothers, Richard .....

The Symbol Of Black In "The Crucible"
Words: 423 - Pages: 2.... What I mean by black is that Elizabeth
probably felt like dying instead of going through all this. Since black
symbolizes death I figured that Elizabeth maybe felt black, like putting
herself out of the misery of all this charging rather than go along with it.
She gets blamed for many things that she did not do. For example she is
accused of poking Abby with a needle by a poppet.
Mary must also feel black because she meant no harm by putting a
needle inside of the poppet and yet she gets in trouble also. The black
signifies Elizabeth's anger hate for Abby. It is clearly shown when she
says that Abby should be ripped out .....
