Cloning, Right Or Wrong
Words: 894 - Pages: 4.... like children, but could not have any, a chance to have them. This process would also let single women have a child without using in-vitro fertilisation or artificial insemination. Cloning could also make a copy of a deceased child for the parents. Also it would be a very useful tool for historians as people such as Hitler would be able to be recreated and studied to find out what their motivations were.
Besides from all these good points cloning also has bad points. The biggest problem with cloning on a large scale is the lack of genetic diversity. If everyone has the same genetic material, what happens if we lose the ability to c .....

Stars
Words: 817 - Pages: 3.... and that
they are generally uncertain by at least 20%. All stars are variable to some
extent; those which are visibly variable are marked with a "v".
What are apparent and absolute magnitudes? Apparent is how bright the appear to
us in the sky. The scale is somewhat arbitrary, as explained above, but a
magnitude difference of 5 has been set to exactly a factor of 100 in intensity.
Absolute magnitudes are how bright a star would appear from some standard
distance, arbitrarily set as 10 parsecs or about 32.6 light years. Stars can be
as bright as absolute magnitude -8 and as faint as absolute magnitude +16 or
fainter. There are thus (a very .....

Solutions Around You
Words: 543 - Pages: 2.... In fact, they are atoms, molecules, or ions, which is why you cannot see them. The particles in a solution are evenly disturbed, or intermingled informally on a molecular level. A small sample of one part of a solution. The particles in a solution will not separate no matter how long the solution is allowed to stand under constant conditions. In a solution, one substance is usually considered to be dissolved, or broken down in another. The substance that is dissolved is called the solute. The substance that does the dissolving is the solvent. Not every substance dissolves in every other substances. A substance that dissolves in a .....

Chlorine

water, particularly in swimming pools and hot tubs.
Like every member of the halogen group, chlorine has a tendency to gain one
electron and become a chloride ion. Chlorine strongly reacts with metals to form
mostly water-soluble chlorides. Chlorine also strongly reacts with nonmetals
such as sulfur, phosphorus, and other halogens. If you were to mix hydrogen and
chlorine gases and keep them in a cool dark place, the mixture would be stable,
but if it were exposed to sunlight, it would cause a strong explosion. If a
burning candle were placed in a sealed container of chlorine, it would keep
burning, and it would produ .....

The Landsats Satellites
Words: 1099 - Pages: 4.... two decades. It provides an impressive collection of information about the Earth’s land surface.
The SPOT satellites carry two High-Resolution Visible (HRV) sensors capturing visible and near-infrared radiance data with multispectral and panchromatic scanning capabilities. The multispectral mode captures data in three bands in the following spectral ranges: .50-.59, .61-.68 and .79-.89 micrometers. The three bands are co-registered and have a ground resolution of 20m. The panchromatic mode images data in the spectral range .51-.73 micrometers at a sampling interval of 10m.

Acid Rain
Words: 1515 - Pages: 6.... monuments.
Acid rain can also be harmful to humans because acid rain kills the crops and
fish we eat, ruins homes, and the acid can release lead in the pipes and the
lead could go into our drinking water. It is hard to determine where acid rain
may fall next, because the wind from a pollueted area could carry pollution to
another area and the acid rain could fall there. The regions effected more by
acid rain is large parts of eastern North America, Scandinavia, and central
Europe. In alot of places acid rain isn't a probelm because some soils can
neutralize the acid and it doesn't effect the crops. Areas more sensitive to
acid rain is in .....

Natural Disasters

this variable. The main reason is I couldn't think of another topic that fit
into e veryone's lives and had an effect on everyone.
The hurricane year is broken up into two seasons. They are referred to
as early season and late season. The early season starts June first and runs to
September 10. The late season starts on September 10 and runs to the end of
November. The date of September 10 is the midway point between the two seasons.
This is the date that separates early season from late season. This leads me to
what my research was about. I am writing about the differences between early
season and late season hurricanes and ho .....

Cancer Treatments And Breakthroughs
Words: 1572 - Pages: 6.... can't tell if they have taken it all out or not. So, just to be sure, doctors usually take out a lot of the healthy tissue surrounding the area. This could damage the person's system and their appearance. Also, cancer sometimes forms around structures that can't be taken out, like an organ. In these cases, surgery alone is basically useless. Radiation therapy is another option, and many doctors prefer this in many cases. When a patient receives radiation therapy, gamma rays are sent in to treat the region that the tumor is in. Patients usually receive five to eight weeks of treatments every day, but they don't have to stay in the hospi .....

The same advanced techniques also make possible invasions of privacy and of restricted information sources, but computer crime has become one of the many risks that society must face if it would enjoy the benefits of modern technology.
Imagine a world without . That would mean no proper means of communicating, no Internet, no video games. Life would be extremely difficult. Adults would have to store all their office work paper and therefore take up an entire room. Teenagers would have to submit course-works and projects ha .....
