Albert Einstein 2

He did not speak or write better or more elegantly than anyone else either. He did not even have any special learning powers either. This was proved when Hoffman was writing equations on a blackboard when he was asked to slow down by Einstein, he said, "Please go slowly, I do not understand things quickly." Proving that he is not that much more intelligent than anyone else. Einstein was a normal guy with maybe just a little more on the brains side .....

Helium
Words: 521 - Pages: 2.... as a refrigerant and
for experimental work in producing and measuring temperatures close to
absolute zero. Liquid helium can be cooled almost to absolute zero at
normal pressure by rapid removal of the vapor above the liquid. At a
temperature slightly above absolute zero, it is transformed into helium II,
also called super fluid helium, a liquid with unique physical properties.
It has no freezing point, and its viscosity is zero; it passes readily
through minute cracks and pores and will even creep up the sides and over
the lip of a container. Helium-3, the lighter helium isotope of mass 3,
which has an even lower boiling point than ordinar .....

Global Warming
Words: 2327 - Pages: 9.... today.
2. Human Activity Causing the Problem
The reason our Earth is getting hotter is that human activities are
emitting too much carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. The radiation from the
sun gets trapped in the bag of carbon dioxide that surrounds our earth.
One main reason for the problem of global warming is the burning of
fossil fuels. Fossil fuels are coal, oil and natural gases. We use these fuels
to run factories, power plants, cars, trucks, buses, air conditioning and etc.
The people of the earth are putting 5.5 billion tons of carbon, in the form of
carbon dioxide in the air every year! Seventy five percent of this is fossi .....

Cardiac Pacemakers
Words: 2766 - Pages: 11.... conduction system. Tens of thousands of these devices are implanted each year in this country alone. Over the past thirty years have evolved from simple devices only capable of fixed-rate stimulation of a single chamber of the heart to more sophisticated "implanted computers" that medical personnel can interrogate and reprogram from outside the patient's body. These refinements have allowed for more physiologic pacing with maintenance of atrioventricular synchrony and cardiac output. There are various types of available today that can be surgically implanted to treat specific arryhythmic disorders in the heart.
Abnormal rhythms in th .....

Malibu Fires
Words: 2537 - Pages: 10.... the woods. As prolonged as these fires were,
they had limited catastrophic effects on the nomadic humans. This is due to the
low population density and the fact that the fires were not very intense. As
people began to change from a hunting-gathering society to agriculturists, they
settled in communities. Homes built among the wild brush were perfect prey to
wildfires. Initially, wildfires were put out immediately and people were barred
from setting fires in open spaces. Due to the policy of fire suppression, only
one percent of all wildfires escaped early control. The land was safe from
fires temporarily, but this set the stage for .....

Cetaceans And Evolution
Words: 794 - Pages: 3.... tail flukes that provide the main propulsive thrust bear no anatomical connection to the lost hind limbs, but are a seperate and distint development. They contain no bone, and owe their firm and yet flexible shape to underlying fibrous elastic tissue. The body is enveloped in a thick layer of blubber that aids in bouyancy, helps to preserve body heat, and is a source of stored energy. A cetacean’s skin is free of sweat glands, oil glands, or hair, and feels much like smooth, wet rubber to the touch.
Cetaceans, like other mammals, have lungs. They breathe air through a single nostril, or pair of nostrils, located on the top of t .....

Oceans
Words: 722 - Pages: 3.... day, the ocean were thought to be boundless. Although Columbus proved
this theory incorrect, the thought still remains in today's societies. “For we
of the 20th century still treat the ocean as the endless, bottomless pit it was
considered to be in medieval times.”(Heyerdahl) The majority of the world's
population still lives under the misconception that the ocean is a hungry abyss,
eager to devour all their waste. These beliefs, however, are all untrue. The
average depth of the oceans is only a little more than a mile, when in fact,
some lakes exceed this depth rather handily. Although the size of the ocean is
often pond .....

Creationism And Darwinism
Words: 1386 - Pages: 6.... into motion around us. We should be in awe, not presumptuous and skeptical.
About 3,000 years ago King David of Israel wrote (Psalm 8:3-4) "When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have ordained; what is man that you are mindful of him? And the son of man, that You visit him?"
Creationism is the product of a literal interpretation of the Biblical story of Genesis. It holds that God created the world in a single act approximately 6,000 years ago--and that human beings, animals, and other forms of life exist today much as they did then. To many creationists, the theory of evolution is heres .....

Aerosol Spray Cans
Words: 583 - Pages: 3.... gas above the liquid. As the can empties liquefied gas vaporizes
to fill the space.
The valve is normal held shut by the pressure in the can, and by the
coil spring directly below the valve stem. When the push button is pressed, it
forces the valve stem down in its housing, uncovering a small a small hole which
leads up through the stem to the nozzle in the button. This allows the product
to be forced up the dip tube by the gas pressure in the can. The nozzle is
shaped to give a spray or a continuous stream.
To produce a fine mist, a propellant is used which mixes with the
product. The two leave the nozzle together and the propellant eva .....
