Curfews Should Be Established And Enforced By Parents, Not By The City Law
Words: 1027 - Pages: 4.... guardian over the age twenty-one after six o’clock. This idea is crazy to think of when you think of a mall on the weekend nights without the local teenagers hanging out and shopping. When I think of “mall, the first thing that comes to mind is teenagers cruising the mall for the perfect gear for the next party or such. This is the first step towards limiting freedom for minors. The next step would be to establish the curfew across town, so that minors under a certain age would not be able to walk the streets without an adult to accompany them. Thereby, limiting and taking away their Constitutional rights.
Curfew laws restrict the .....

Why Are The Homeless Homeless?
Words: 932 - Pages: 4.... or at least something of
value. If they're not doing that, they're begging for spare change on
street corners. Eventually, one would think that they should be able to
afford a couple of respectable suits or other outfits to wear while
applying and even working for this job of theirs. All they have to do is
poke around a little longer or beg a little more, and that job would be
theirs to enjoy. Keeping these articles of clothing clean would be
difficult, but manageable. If you can't afford a coin operated laundromat
(I'm sure there'd be plenty of left over change from begging), just find
some large, clean puddle of water in the .....

How Should We Treat The Homeless?
Words: 451 - Pages: 2.... a form of self-reliance for him.
In his story, Eighner tells us what is safe to eat, how to tell if it is
safe, and where to get the food. He states that a lot of people throw away
perfectly good food, and when they do he finds it. Eighner says the food "can
be evaluated with some confidence largely on the basis of appearance." In my
opinion, I don't care if the food looks perfect, I wouldn't eat garbage unless
I was dying from hunger.
But eating is only one problem facing the homeless. Their second
priority should be shelter. Where will they go if it is freezing or something?
Many large cities have homeless shelters, but sometim .....

Trans-racial Adoption
Words: 2416 - Pages: 9.... love is colorblind.
There are many minority children who are without permanent homes in
the United States, crossing the color bar is frowned upon by many people.
The debate over transracial adoption is whether or not it is in the best
interest of the child. The problem in today's society is that foster care
is preferred over transracial adoption. The reason being the children and
youth services would rather put a black child in foster homes of that race
instead of letting a white couple adopt it because they are white. They
believe that putting a black child in white family would culturally damage
that child, that they would grow .....

Homelessness
Words: 1267 - Pages: 5.... be a problem yet over the years,
the number of homeless people has been on the rise and something must be
done. Homelessness, specially in families, is a devastating experience.
It disturbs nearly all aspects of family life, damaging the physical and
emotional health of family members. In addition, it interferes with
children's education and development and often results in the separation of
family members. It is hard to say exactly who the homeless are because it
is usually a temporary circumstance and not a permanent condition.
Therefore more appropriate manner of estimating homelessness is to
look at the number of people .....

Why I’m Proud To Be An American
Words: 308 - Pages: 2.... on the Fourth of July.
All across the country, fireworks are seen and patriotic music is played on
the radio. This is my favorite holiday because everyon comes together and
celebrates. There are not may other countries who have as much pride in
their country as the American people do.
The biggest excitement of being an American comes from the joy of living in
a democracy. We have the right to vote. This means that it is up to us to
decide who becomes president of our country. We are very lucky to live in
this country and enjoy all of its freedoms. I will always be proud to be
an American. It is pretty cool being a american becasu .....

Dating: Bars, Clubs, And Personal Advertisements
Words: 834 - Pages: 4.... region. Those who attended bars were
either contacted directly or given questionnaires. The questionnaires were
completed by 152 subjects: 40 from ads; 62 attended singles clubs, and 50
frequented bars. (Yelsma and Weinir, p. 35)
What effect does self esteem have in a person's decision on what type of
method to use to find their possible companion? It is shown that people with
lower self-esteems tend to choose personal advertisements, while people with
higher self esteems tend to lean towards the bar scene. Others with a mediocre
self-esteem seem to go towards the clubs scene. According to Josephs, Larrick,
Steele, and Nisbett, (19 .....
