The Arab had drawn his knife and held it up to Meursault, but this wasn't what bothered him, it was the light from the sun that shot off the Arabs knife, and the intense heat along with the salt from his sweat in his eyes that was bothering him. Meursault shot the Arab mainly because he was uncomfortable and not because he felt threatened, but in any case he made the decision to shoot him. The house was now empty and perfect for his plot. Montressor led Fortunato into the gloomy depths of the vaults. The humidity caused Fortunato to cough so Montressor gave him more to drink. He made it seem like he cared about Fortunato's cough when he was actually trying to get him more drunk than he already was. Montressor's evil is shown when he responds to anot .....

Fitzgerald then grew apon these plots by making them all have realistic outcomes (such as Gatsby's demise), rather than your typical story book endings. It is mostly thanks to Fitzgerald's descriptive, poetic style of writing that allows him to realistically portray the many plots of The Great Gatsby. Fitzgerald's realistic construction and development of plot is extremely dependant apon the setting of the novel in which it take place. F. Scott Fitzgerald uses realism to clearly depict the setting of the Great Gatsby. This incredible .....

By taking the initiative and writing to their employers, Gregor's family proves that they no longer depend on Gregor. The scene at the kitchen table proves revealing once again when Mr. Samsa announces that he will fire the cleaning lady (17). By doing so, Mr. Samsa demonstrates that he has changed and can take responsibility. Grete (Gregor's sister) and Mrs. Samsa also show that they have changed by not contesting Mr. Samsa's decision to fir .....

As the story progresses, it seems as though each of them is trying to make the other more jealous. Honesty and Love, two words know only by the faithful, George Wilson. The cause of his death was a horrible mistake, which never should have happened, and it will now affect the lives of everyone who knew Gatsby. Gatsby was doing what he loved most, spending time with Daisy, while Daisy was driving, when she accidentally hit a woman. Well, that woman’s husband heard a horrible rumor, which placed Gatsby in the drivers seat. The man then finds Gatsby and shoots him. I wish, like so many others, though they can not come today, that the truth be told earlier, so we could still be partying at Gatsby’s house as we have so many time .....

Eventually the narrator merges her life with the life of the woman behind the wallpaper. The ever-changing pattern of the wallpaper divided the two worlds that the narrator was living in.
