Training My Dog
Words: 647 - Pages: 3.... unconditioned stimulus (UCS), tapping his leg, by using operant conditioning and liver treats as positive reinforcement.
Day 1: I began by acting like I was going to grab Max’ head. Just as I suspected he put his paw on my arm. I tapped his leg and I gave him a treat as a positive reinforcer. I am using operant conditioning at this point in order to establish an unconditioned stimulus (taping Max’ leg) and an unconditioned response (putting his paw in my hand). Once I have shaped this behavior I can then go on to the second phase using Pavlov’s classical conditioning.
Day 2: After two days of fixed ratio reinforcement, Max is beginn .....

Personal Writing: Fragment - Changes In Life
Words: 1149 - Pages: 5.... Some happenings in
our lives are very serious and aren't as easy to talk about with others.
Even though this is true it does help the person feel better to talk about
their problems whether they realize it at first or not. Changes in life
like these can change you both physically and mentally for the rest of your
life depending on the severity of the situation.
In early August of `96 my life at home became a living nightmare. I
don't really know what it was that started this thing between me and my
parents but I do remember that they were always doing anything they could
to just annoy me. I doubt this was intentional but at the tim .....

One day 3 of the workers, Art Halegiver (the shaft turner), Mac
(the head shaper) and Wendy (the wand waver) were having lunch and while
discussing their individual jobs, realized how unhappy they were with their

they take care of their families if everyone continued to leave Lamron and
there wouldn't be any use for the arrows?
Apparently, many of the local Lamronians were unhappy living in
Lamron and were moving away. They had found that other nearby towns did not
charge as much for the drag .....

Personal Writing: Life Is Short
Words: 388 - Pages: 2.... luckily
no one seemed to be hurt. That experience really changed how I thought of
my life, or so I thought.
The next major experience was during this school year. I went out
to a party one night, and I never expected to get into problems. I had a
little to drink and I guess it clouded my mind so I had a lot more. I
didn't think I was drunk until it was too late. The whole night blacked out
and when I awoke I was in the Hospital. It turns out that I had drunken
myself into a coma and if I wasn't taken to the hospital I would have died.
Although I still go to parties I am much smarter on what and how much I
will have to drink.
I guess the .....

Memoirs Of A Mountain High
Words: 812 - Pages: 3.... rock always seemed to have the last
say. By this time a month had passed and I was very grateful to have that
one shower on the way to the Gore Range in Colorado. This section of the
course was by far the most demanding, the mountaineering section. Stepping
off the bus in Frisco, Colorado we looked back knowing that we were not to
see civilization for at least a month. There were 8 men and women in my
group from all over the country. Each one had a unique personality not
knowing that we would all become closer to each other than family, possibly
being dependent during life threatening situations which we experienced on
many occasions. This .....

Creative Writing: The Tale Of Me And Summer Reading
Words: 772 - Pages: 3.... the glass a blue sheet on the
refrigerator. I immediately turned around and there I saw under a magnet, on the
refrigerator, the summer reading list!
I wanted to start reading as soon as possible. Although I wanted to see
how many books I could read that were on the summer reading list but would not
have to go to the library to get a hold of. My mother is a big book reader so I
checked her collection and I found one. "The Terminal Man" By: Michael Crichton.
To my surprise I actually enjoyed reading this book. I don't like reading that
much, I rather watch a movie. This book however was different. It was really
suspenseful and hard t .....

Just Another Saturday Night?
Words: 829 - Pages: 4.... Tom was sitting on a chair with another blonde chick sprawled across his lap. I didn’t quite know what it was about him, but every party he had a different one, without fail. I watched as Andrew skillfully skated the mini-ramp. He rode with a smooth style. I watched his arms, spread out, as he balanced. I followed with my eye the cigarette in his right hand as it glowed, spearing through the night.
I ran up the ramp and crouched down next to Matt, Eddie, Gavin and Jared. They all yelled my name as Matt tackled me to the floor of the platform. I tripped Matt over and rolled across next to Eddie. I grabbed his bottle of Tequila and took a s .....

The daughter then took it upon herself to call EMS from her own house.
The medics were notified of the problem through the usual method, a
series of tones over a radio that cause a loud horn to blare and all the station
lights to come on, much to the annoyance of the fire lieutenant. This alarm was
immediately followed by the dispatchers voice giving all the applicable
informa .....
