she had so carefully placed it moments before and hurriedly did so again.
Her beautiful teenager's face was buried beneath layer upon layer of make
up. She was wearing her most expensive dress which she saved for the most
special of occasions. She considered this one of those occasions as she
didn't want to take the risk of going on a blind date dressed badly if in
the off chance her date looked like Brad Pitt. Her hunch had been right
this time. Johnothan R. Frakes was a real catch for a girl. Tall, big
shoulders, blond hair and deep blue eyes and most importantly thought
Melissa, he had a dress sense. John also .....

My Stock Track Portfolio
Words: 1831 - Pages: 7.... about it so I figured I would give it a shot. All the kids in class were buying stock in computer software and upcoming telecommunications companies. I really didn't know anything about them so I bought a stock called Nextlink communications. I have no idea what the company is about, but it did pretty well so I was happy. Then I bought NPC International Inc., just because I wanted more stocks and it sounded good. I bought Music Land stores because I play the guitar and I love music so I had to buy that stock. I already own Walt Disney stock in real life. My grandfather bought it for me for my 10th birthday. If it's good enough for hi .....

so many root wads (root wads are clumps of tree stumps, roots, branches,
leaves, and whatever else might float down the river) along the banks, and
it has so many sunken canoes and sunken logs along it's main channel that
safe passage through it is impossible - unless you stick to the right side
of the bend.”
As we neared the end of a long straight away in the river, I
noticed the speed of the water was increasing exponentially. A look
farther down the river told me what I had been dreading this whole trip now
lay before us, and we were going into Wallace's Point from the wrong side
of the river! “Rich! Back-right st .....

Conversation With A Doctor
Words: 3964 - Pages: 15.... ten years ago, and we never saw any reason to move.
Since we decided never to have kids, I guess we never needed anything
larger -- not that it's small, of course.
A condominium.
Well, I teach literature at McGill. And I went on an academic
exchange to Germany.
Hamburg. It's an ugly city, but we enjoyed it anyway.
Yes, teaching. I got Arnaud to travel around Germany a bit, and we
came back through France.
No, I wish I had learnt it, but since I taught my students in French
it didn't matter too much. And of course they all speak English.
When we got back. The time we were there was fine.
We'd ren .....

Creative Writing: Huck's Rebellion
Words: 1275 - Pages: 5.... she
had no cares in the world. We left the building and started to walk back
to her house.
Aunt Sally says to me , “Now that you with me all your old ways are to
end”. “You will be starting school soon and I expect you to do as I say”.
I turned my head towards her and nodded. Little did she know what
kind of thoughts were going through my head at the time. After what she
had just said I don't think that I will be able to stand it. I knew that I
was a free boy, I made up my own rules and nobody was going to sivilize me
no matter what!
The house came into view after walking for a few miles. I entered
first with Au .....

Personal Writing: About Me
Words: 725 - Pages: 3.... us. We are a very religious culture and that can be seen at the many festivals honouring various saints. When my family visited Portugal, my breath was taken away by the beautiful sights and simple life on the farm. Nobody had a rushing schedule and everything felt as peace. They lived day to day on the food they grew and the milk from their cows. In my eyes, this kind of life is very fulfilling. There was always something fun to do and I was always spotted playing with the cows and chickens.
Farm animals are only one type of animal I adore. I own three dogs, a bird and two degu, (which are like hamsters). I just love any type of animal, .....

Personal Writing: The Day Of Surprise
Words: 906 - Pages: 4.... day, I would obtain the card that I had
picked out from my father. Classmates would give everyone Valentine cards. Some
extremely generous kids would even attach candy to the cards. It didn't matter
if you hated each other, on Valentines Day everyone put aside their differences
and even presented cards to the children nobody liked. That one day of love
seemed to unify the worst of foes through love and forgiveness. I could hardly
wait for that day to come.
As the night before Valentines Day had rolled around, anticipation had
escalated to an all time peak. Nevertheless, it was all set aside as my parents
once again started to fight. .....

Personal Writing: The Relay Race
Words: 475 - Pages: 2.... me. I realised the second runner was close to me.
I felt tension not only on my body but also mentally. I looked back. The
second runner was running at full speed to me. I saw the baton. It looked
like a monster. My mind shouted at me.
'Drop and Die.'
I looked forward again. I could see my way clearly.
It was short distance to go, but it seemed the finishing line was miles
away from me. I opened my eyes with a fierce glare and I decided to run to
death. Every thing looked different from a second ago. I knew my team was
about to be the victor.
"GO!"
The second runner shouted. I darted forth. I put my hand back. I felt the

An Significant Experience
Words: 438 - Pages: 2.... now be trampled with one simple step. After gorging the now-cold cup of milk, I went downstairs. I noticed something strange. What happened to the "restaurant" we used to run? I swear we had those tall cooks with aprons and weapon-like utensils who used our long countertops to chop and fry vegetables. Where was that huge tray where all the dishes were placed to serve me? As I stepped out of the kitchen, the same feeling crept in. I always remembered living in a mansion. Had it shrunk? When I asked my mom, she gave me a perplexed look as though I had just left a mental hospital. I heard several quarrels within our home, ones I had never b .....

Personal Writing: My New Life In India
Words: 752 - Pages: 3.... told me in
scratchy long-distance telephone conversations how great life was in India at
his boarding school.
"We have the best futbol (soccer) field in all of India," he said. "It
has an electronic scoring board, and the surface is fluorescent blue astroturf."
This was an enormous motivation factor, due to the fact that soccer is my
favorite sport. "And the food is delectable," he went on, "They serve chicken
curry with juicy vegetables four out of the seven days of the week." I ate
chicken curry every chance I got, so this, added to the soccer field, made the
school sound fantastic.
"The weather is remarkable. The temp .....
