Words: 1015 - Pages: 4.... Then Macbeth reigns
for a while, has several people killed, and is eventually slain by Macduff when
he and Malcolm return leading the armies of England. Often people read the
play and automatically conclude that Macbeth's tragic flaw is his ambition;
that he is compelled to commit so many acts of violence by his lust for power.
However, by carefully examining the first act, one can determine the defect in
Macbeth's character that creates his ambition; his true tragic flaw. Macbeth's
tragic flaw is not his ambition as most people believe, but rather his trust in
the words of the witches and in his wife's decisions.
At the beginning .....

had a servant bring him to the forest and leave him for dead. The servant does
not want to carry out this deed and therefore "saves his life" by handing the
baby to someone else, so that he can be raised in another city. Further, a
drunken man in a tavern tells Oedipus about the prophecy, so he runs home to
question his parents about his fate. Instead of telling him the truth, they

Film Review: Close Encounters Of The Third Kind
Words: 598 - Pages: 3.... sci-fi flick that has that patented Spielberg ending
we all have grown to love over the years.
The reason for the greatness of this movie lies firmly in the
outstanding performances by Dreyfuss, Barro, and co-star Terri Garr. Dreyfuss
has a knack for being able to portray an erratic man who in one instant is
completely normal, and at other times becomes utterly insane. Melinda Barro
also puts in an extremely believable performance as Dreyfuss's side-kick in
search of her abducted son. But perhaps the most hidden success of this movie
is the very underrated actress Teri Garr, who put in her two cents as Dreyfuss's
