Response To Wilson's "Just Take Away Their Guns"
Words: 628 - Pages: 3.... look like they are carrying guns. How does one pick
someone out of a crowd that looks like they are carrying a gun? I don't
think it is possible to look at someone and tell if they are carrying a gun
or not. That is ridiculous. Just because of the way someone looks doesn't
mean that they are carrying a gun. What criteria should be used to
determine if someone looks like when they are carrying a gun? Do they put
on baggy pants with a do-rag before they put the gun in their pants or
pocket? As of right now, there is not one, and never will be one. I know
many people that carry guns that probably would be stopped because of the
way t .....

To Kill A Killer
Words: 477 - Pages: 2.... maintaining prisons and feeding inmates. A recent study found that it costs more to put a prisoner to death, with any method than it does to imprison them for life. Also, in the U.S., the chief objection to capital punishment is that it was always used unfairly. First, women are rarely sentenced to death and executed, even though 20% of all homicides in recent years have been committed by women. Second, a study conducted by U.S. News and a World Report showed that a disproportionate number of nonwhites are sentenced to death and executed. Yet many people, especially family members of murder victims, want to see the offender(s) dead. I .....

Austria
Words: 1011 - Pages: 4.... What is an average n to do?" The formation of this coalition caused outrage across Europe, where the freedom party is viewed as something between neo-Nazis and conventional U.S Republican conversations. While all this stuff was stirring in Vienna, on Thursday European rabbis said they would move a planned meeting from Vienna. One of the men in charge Joerg Haider is unacceptable to the European family of nations. Aba Dunner, secretary general of the conference of European Rabbis, told a Slovakian newspaper. The thoughts of the Holocaust, Hitler and SS and concentration camps are not acceptable at the start of a new century and never can .....

Women In Corporate America
Words: 653 - Pages: 3.... these extraordinary advances? For the most part, it is due to the education they receive. At the present time young girls are encouraged to enroll in classes dealing with math and science, rather than home economics and typing. As pointed out by Nanette Asimov, in her essay "Fewer Teen Girls Enrolling in Technology Classes", school officials are advocating the necessity of advanced placement, and honor classes for teenage girls, in both the arts and sciences. This support and reassurance than carries over onto college, and finds a permanent fixture in a woman’s life. While women are continuing their success in once exclusively male orient .....

Words: 737 - Pages: 3.... the Dalai Lama.
The international community didn’t agree with China’s decision. The question of Tibet was discussed on numerous occasions by the U.N. General Assembly between 1959 and 1965. Three resolutions were passed by the General Assembly condemning China's violations of human rights in Tibet and calling upon China to respect those rights, including Tibet's right to self-determination.
The destruction of Tibet's culture and oppression of its people was brutal during the twenty years following the uprising. 1.2 million Tibetans, one-fifth of the country's population, died as a result of China's policies; many more died in priso .....
