A Lesson From Oliver
Words: 13164 - Pages: 48.... level, stored for future reference, I seem to have imbibed her
subtle stimuli. Along the eastern shores of the night-sky a splash of
colour would emerge. The all-night cricket band would reluctantly wane
under the first gentle reveille from those "early-birds" of epigram fame.
And then would come the most striking sensation of all: the smell of fresh
dew on the grass - I think the terms "exhilarating" and "intoxicating" were
coined by someone who'd just taken their first breath of northern morning
air (though they likely did so between 6 and 7 a.m. when one is better
primed to wax poetic and the passage of sensory information .....

Personal Writing: Why I Need A Car
Words: 661 - Pages: 3.... is terrible. The buses come every hour on
weekdays and only three times on Sundays. I have complained before, but
they don't care to what I have to say. Even when the buses come they are
always late because the routes are convoluted. It takes hours to get
anywhere. The closest commercial area to my house is Park Royal and that
is a two hour walk away. There are no small stores and if I want milk, the
closest store is in North Vancouver, would you believe. I guess they
expect everyone to be so rich, so they can afford a car for every member in
the family (think again). Waiting for the buses in the freezing rain or
snow is so annoy .....

Creative Story: Deadlock
Words: 1526 - Pages: 6.... already up, I might as well take a look at
the rest of those Rasssjemani-Quazaric-Smith Equations and see why they were
causing all those robots to go psycho," she thought. "Good thing that U.S.
Robots and Mechanical Men hushed up that little incident, I'd be out of a job if
the whole world, the xenophobic and primally-fearful lot of them, knew about
that!" As she got out and buttered her toast, she mulled the day ahead of her in
her mind. Weekends were never truly weekends for Susan Calvin, as she was forced
to work for most of the weekend, with her only respite being Sunday, which she
was allowed to come in an hour late for. However, she .....

Personal Essay: Look Before You Leap
Words: 497 - Pages: 2.... this a trick?," I asked. It seemed a little suspicious.
"No, of course not. I'm just sick of this game."
"Well, okay." I hesitated then decided to go out to the deck.
"Ha! Got you!" said my other opponent, Lance, who was hiding behind the
door with a water egg in his hand.
"Liar!," I yelled at Philip. My instant reaction was to jump off the
deck onto the grass below. I had done it many times before and knew that I
would be okay. That way I could get away from Lance and I would not lose the
water fight. The water egg whizzed right past my head as I vaulted over the
railing of the deck. I shouted "Missed me!" without thinki .....

Personal Writing: Jim Thomson's House
Words: 953 - Pages: 4.... experiences especially to this interesting place.
When the day that I had been waiting for a week came true, I was quiet excited and worried because I had to go there by oneself. I really didn't know how to go there!, However, I met my friends Bird, Poy and Beau at the bus-stop a few minutes before they got a bus number 47 to go to Jim Thomson's house. Then we arrived in there about 16.30 pm. Before I reached the Thai home, I felt strange and had a question again that why the beautiful teak house was surrounded by many cement buildings and was located on the end of a long Soi. I didn't appreciate it.
Although, after I rested and sat for .....

My Freshman Experience At The University Of Alabama
Words: 598 - Pages: 3.... knowing that they are all still there with each other. I also miss my parents. I was use to getting all the attention, since I was the last child to leave the house. Now that I am three hours away it is hard to get all the attention I am use to. I miss them all very much, but the phone has proven to be my best friend. I talk to them all everyday, making sure that I do not miss a thing that goes on in Atlanta.
Another issue that has effected my college experience is meeting new people. Meeting new people is usually something that I never have a problem of doing. Since I have been here I have felt intimidated by people and not as comf .....

Personal Writing: Volunteering At Summer Quest
Words: 1492 - Pages: 6.... 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This was a very difficult assignment.
I had to plan fun events, but also make them very inexpensive. This was an
interesting task that allowed me for the first time to use many of the
skills I had learned in my Organizational Communication classes. I had to
negotiate prices for admission, and figure out transportation and food cost.
It also taught me a lot about planning and time organization. I had to plan
months in advance, and fill in every second of the day with activities to
keep the students busy. Now I know that in the future when I am in the
real world, I can plan big events and pull them off successfully be .....

had always given Bradley a structure in his life, they had always
maintained themselves as an unwavering constant. But most importantly, they
were carried out slowly, and in the current times of speed and fast results,
it was very reassuring to be able to take time to go through the routines
which had been a part of Bradley's life for at least fifteen years, now.
Bradley savoured his drink, choosing to drink it very slowly, as if in
an attempt to slow down time. Bradle .....
